Hello. For those of you know don't know me, my name is Michael Tomaszewski (Jr). I have been around the business since I was born, and I have been a part of the community for the past 10 years or so. I got my first Buick at age 17 (1970 Skylark, 350-2) that I drove to high school. It wasn't long before the entire front of the car was rebuilt/restored and the engine rebuilt with the help of my dad and grandfather. What once was a 17.50 second worn out 350 became a 12.60's street 350. Ported heads, our intake, roller rockers, 600” valve lift, forged pistons, Crower rods, all the good stuff.

I went to college for mechanical engineering. I worked at Raytheon as a systems engineer for a year and General Dynamics as a manufacturing engineer for 4 years, all the while still coming into TA to help when I could. I came to the realization that while I enjoyed my job, it didn't give the same level of satisfaction that working at the family business did. I care very deeply for the company and decided to make the switch to leave GD and come back to work for TA full time and to eventually take it over when my parents decide to retire. For the past few months I've been learning our processes and working on making them better. We've been picking away at new projects as well as working to improve current ones.

Many of you admire and would love to own our legendary aluminum V8 block. Like the V6 block, it has revolutionized the reliability of the Buick engine. Where you once needed girdles and hardblock to make big power, the fact remained that every pass could be your blocks last. Racers no longer have to worry about if their engine will still be running by the end of an event, or if it will be in pieces. It's a huge weight lifted off of their shoulders so they can worry about other things, like winning. Even street cars benefit from the reliability, strength, and repair-ability of the aluminum block.

2018 marks our 35th year of being in business. That's a milestone for us, as well as the Buick community, so I've been working hard to devise something special for our customers. To celebrate 35 years of Buick performance, I'm offering 25 of our standard aluminum V8 blocks at a discounted price of $4500. This is a pre-production run sale, so all I ask is that you call and place a deposit to secure your block on the next production run. No more hardblock, no more girdles, no more hassle.

In addition, we have tried very hard to not raise the price on our aluminum heads, even as Edelbrock heads have increased in cost (we haven't raise the price on Stage 1 SE's in 8 years, despite the increase in material and labor costs). Currently, our heads are only $55 more than Edelbrock heads, which is a great value in addition to being a superior product. I'm going to go one step further and offer our Stage 1 SE Assembled cylinder heads for $2350, $115 less than Edelbrock heads. Both of these offers are good through the end of the year.

One final update. Customers have asked if we are going to offer an iron replacement block in addition to our aluminum V8 block. With the success of our aluminum V8 block and the supply of factory 455 blocks dwindling every year, we are investigating having a replacement iron V8 block produced to compliment our aluminum V8 block.

I hope these sales are beneficial to our customers and I will continue to try my hardest to provide the best possible products at the best price to our community. Thank you for your continued support.

The iron block would be a killer deal would it be a copy of the GM production block or would it be more like the aluminum block Only in iron

That is an absolutely amazing offer for the block,...there isn't a block out there from any other company for any other make that offers what the Tomahawk does at a $4500 price point.

Congratulations Michael! I know this has been a desire of "certain people" for a long time!! Keep an eye on the "big picture", and you'll do great!
Also great promo job with the sale prices! This stirs up and encourages "excitement" in the Buick community.
Now that you're there taking the reins, your dad should have a little extra time.........please have him work on my Tomahawk!! Lol

Nice to hear the TA legacy will live on!

A good product to come out with would be a Nailhead high rise dual plane SINGLE 4 bbl carb aluminum intake!
The dual 4 bbl carb stuff looks cool and all but for people that know better, that's all they're good for is to "look cool", they don't actually ad power.

Aluminum heads for a Nailhead engine would be even cooler! A whole lot of people still like to stick that Nailhead engine in anything they can, would be nicer if they could make better power than what they're limited to. Probably see how the single 4 bbl intake sells first though.(I know I would like to eventually have one)

I was asked a few questions about the TA aluminum blocks. You will be able to order 3 different styles of this block under this special.
All Buick, 3.250 Buick main, standard size Buick cam bearing
All Ford, 3.00 Ford main, 54mm Ford cam bearing size, for roller cam only
Ford/Buick, 3.00 Ford main, standard size Buick cam bearing

I have built TA aluminum engines using the customers parts from there iron block. Crank, rods, pistons and cam. The TA aluminum block is ready to hone for a 4.350 piston .038" over bore. You could make a special request if needed for a sleeve to allow a 4.312 STD bore. Never built one like that yet. The only problem we had run into was 3 people to date wanted to run a mechanical fuel pump. The block did not have the clearance to allow it to bolt on. Now, I know folks, like Jim Rogers were able to clear the block to get the pump to bolt on, but the water jacket was very close. This next run of blocks and from now on will have material added into that area of the water jacket. This way the block can be machined to accommodate a mechanical fuel pump. We can put the block up on our CNC and make the pump fit. One part that is different, is the oil pan and pick up tube.
I have worked with Steve at SRE, a great friend and fellow Buick enthusiast to make these for us, and or modify our 6qt repo pan or your stock oil pan. Some folks have modified there own pans.
So, for all of those whot thick you need to buy all new parts to move into a TA Aluminum block, NOT TRUE. Your parts will transfer into your NEW TA Performance block very nicely with much more reliability.
It would be nice to hear some reviews from a few folks, street or strip.

Wow, just saw this... been super busy lately... too busy to read my own board..

Congrats Michael on stepping up to the plate here. You know what you have just committed to, you've seen how hard your folks work all your life. Running your own business is way more than a full time job, good to see you take the plunge, I know your parents were considering all their options for the company's future here, not long ago.

From my point of view, as one of, if not the biggest TA vendor on the planet, it's good news for all of us that you have decided to keep the company going.

    Now get to work... :):)

    Weekends off?... I don't think so...

I commend your decision on doing what you really enjoy,
many of us just do what pays the bills,
Being familiar with TA products, (been in the turbo V6 stuff for 25+ yrs, with Nick Micale)
Your companies commitment to the "buick nuts" is refreshing!
I thank you for your sacrifices and the time and effort your company puts into
    our hobby/ passion.

I am assuming the standard Buick block on sale is the 3.25 main and standard camshaft, correct?
