Does anyone have a part number for the low profile head gaskets for the 350s that help with compression? I am ready to put the heads on and want that small bump in compression that TA advertises with the non composite head gasket that is a replacement for the factory ones. thanks Fellas
Hi, which year is the engine. I have 20 thou steel shim gaskets but they only work with the older engines.
You don’t mention what year engine. Mid 72 can not use the thin gasket without plugging coolant ports, and will probably not seal if it had composite gaskets and you don’t have block and head resurfaced. It’s only like .3 in compression. Mill the heads .030 . Is worth about .62 Here’s the coolant ports you need to look for and plug then resurface Ta performance and eBay may find you the steel shim gasket. They need to be coated with sealant. They are listed for 68-69 350
Not to hijack the OP's thread, but I talked to TA yesterday & Tim said that when (not "if," I asked) they make another run of 350 head castings, the one change might be the elimination of those coolant passages.
I dont think they sold many, they have tons left. It’s just that they aren’t machined so there are none ready to sell right now.
