I have tried all outlets to get in touch with Nate this last week. I am sorry if I come out sounding like a thorn, but I did not expect to be here four months with no progress at all. What I have discussed with the guy I know is a steel hub that the aluminum pulley will bolt to so we have a bit stronger product that will resist flex and fatigue. Any other input will be considered as we want to produce the best product we can, so if anyone has any suggestions we will be more than happy to hear them!
Guys, I'm really disappointed in Nate's lack of response to your attempts to contact him. I've never spoken to him personally but have always had acceptable response to emails. Chris are you the only one who sent parts? I will try to contact him and ask that he send them back to you asap.
yes David, I am the only one who sent parts. I sent the following: 1 power steering pulley 1 crank pulley 1 waterpump pulley 1 double groove alt. pulley 1 single groove alt pulley Thanks for any help!
Yea, pretty sad that last update was in feb,and he said that he would be starting to cut in a couple days...then after that communication stopped I'ts not hard to respond back to an email or voicemail..if he had issues with getting something or couldnt do it then state it...dont leave customers in the dark..a bad update is better then no update at all
got an email from Nate apologising for delays and said he will be packing the pulleys up and sending them back. maybe I will have a run of these ready for christmas. Thanks for getting Nate to respond. I figure you sent an email David?
Chris, let us know when you get the pullies back! the whole ordeal kind of sucks but can always try again
got an email yesterday from usps that Nate has shipped them out. hope they come soon, all I need to do is put pullies on, figure out my trans lines/cooler, connect 3 wires to the trans, and set the tv cable......
pulleys are in my possesion! hope to have things sorted out with my guy over the winter!! Thanks everyone
Hey guys I started a new job this week as an instructor for cnc and manual machining at a community college. As I get settled in I would be willing to make some prototypes that we can install and test prior to full blown production. I have a spare 350 with pulleys sitting around, just need to confirm that they are all there. Kerry
There is a company called March performance that makes pulleys for the 3.8 and they are v-belt pulleys that should work on the 350. BUT if you have the short water pump you will need to switch to the long water pump because the stock 3 groove pulley was designed for the smog pump and the short water pump was designed for non-smog. SO, if you do mind having an extra groove and switching the water pump out, this kit should work. I know in my project of swapping the 3.8 engine to the buick 350, I used the all the 3.8 pulleys and the long water pump and with the stock pulleys I have no problems. Here is the link to Summit Racing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mch-4220/overview/make/buick The Price:$227.88, I also haven't used/bought them yet, but i was think about it Josh
I have an alternator pulley at work, made a drawing now just trying to find time. I have a summer class starting so maybe during it.
I put at ATI balancer on my motor and used a SBC billet crank pulley (I had to trim the ID open) I then used a billet SBC water pump pulley ( had to trim the OD down roughly .075) and I am going to use the pulley that comes with my alternator which is also billet and or chrome. It took some shimming and trimming but it turned out pretty OK. Just figured I would through it out there in case people are interested.
