 I just got off the phone with Tim over at TA he is going to start creating back orders for 350 heads if we call in. So everyone help Tim to motivate Mike on getting these finished up! :blast:

I would expect Mike or Mike Jr to have posted that here in their Vendor forum rather than thru a phone conversation with Tim.

Still good to hear SOMETHING is going on with it, even if it's just talk. Perhaps one day, when everyone is least expecting it, wham: guess what? the heads are here! Would be nice. Like winning the lottery, you can be hopeful and dream, but...

Heh. Maybe Mike will surprise us. He's only one person and has other commitments that require his devotion (like making money). He runs a business, and has to see enough people supporting the idea in order for a fire to get lit under his ass. It's more than just doing the 350 community a favor, it's about turning a profit on an investment, bottom line.
Apparently, it's taken this long because there was no profit in it until recently. The 350 popularity is increasing by the day, particularly with forced induction being introduced once more people realized the durability of the 350 block compared to the 455 block.

In short, thanks for the post, my Buick Brother!

Why should I call TA to tell them I want heads and intake. All they have to do is go to this small block section and look at the posts. We have been asking for this for the last 8 years now, how long does it take to get online and look at this.
Nobody is that busy that they cannot look at this. I do school and work and I can still get on here and run my mouth. :spank:

Here, I will say it, I want to buy heads and intake.

Lots of people ask for lots of things ,but when the time comes to pony up the cash, there is always an excuse. Sure ,today you say you want some, do you have the 3k to drop right now to buy them? Will you still have it when the parts are made? Or will you have changed your mind, gone another direction, had an unexpected bill come in etc etc...the list of excuses goes on and on. No bashing intended, and I'm not looking to flame anyone, but the small block crowd is notoriously all bark/no bite. If people want big hp, they go with the big block. It just makes more sense. By the time you factor in the cost of al heads and forced induction on a 350, you could do the same to a BB and have lots more power. Unless you can fab all the parts yourself, that is. Just because 1 350 held up to 1000 hp doesn't mean they all will. Start really pushing the 350, and lots of design flaws will start showing up.

If you want a head that fits under the hood with a good intake then you will have to keep what you have. There is only so much you can do without a raised port head. If 10 of you guys poled up 5000 bucks each you would have a billet head. That's right "A" billet head. Then you could start making more billet heads and sell them for 6 to 7K a set add rockers and valve covers then you could keep up with the chevy's. Then is all you need is an HD block. Just call Mike and ask if he will have a 350 cast head this year and have him post it. The worst he can say is NO. No one wants to take deposits on something they have no control of. 3months turns into 2 years then you have 50 ticked of customers. Just ask Jim Burek. He is the bad guy for trying to help when he had no control of making the 455 iron block. Any volunteers to start taking deposits?? Mike is doing all he can in this economic environment with others going bye bye.

It took five years for the Rover head to get to the market. Would someone like to explain to me how it would be possible for the 350 head to do it any quicker? TRS put up money and guaranteed the purchase of the first run. Nobody here is doing that.

No reason to do a rover headed 350? how about a 5 year+ lead time vs available parts to do it now? Wait on TA to do a cam they already said they won't do? Alternate sources are out there.

I can't do a deposit at this exact moment but if TA is asking for a list of people who are definitely interested in a set of heads you can count me in

Me either, been out of a job since august.,..but i'd still put down a partial Down payment if the billet heads are green lighted...but are the billet 455 heads even done yet?

Well there you have it, folks. Everyone with forced induction on their small blocks and v6's are wasting their time, especially those v6's. Man whoever expected those things to make power and hold up were just delusional...oh wait. /end sarcasm

The v6's take a lot of their design engineering from the 350, and the 350 doesn't have the support--yet--and is still doing incredible things.

So the potential is definitely there. Why hate? We're all Buick lovers. Peace, man.:bglasses:

This is something i never got, you think the SBB would of had it easy since the lc2 performance does awsome...
as for us 350 guys comming up short where it counts...yeah i always seem to have a money/job issues ..but after I got my Custom intake or turbokit or forged pistons/rods or MLS head gasekts.. ..Hell i think i bought some of this when I didnt have a job lol

everything I wanted i got through the part being made custom.

Guess what..i'll be doing the same for these billet heads and billet crank..theres uit a few options for billet cranks..
theres 2 for AL heads..one being ken betts/ta perf joint venture with im assuming needing 5 sbb guys to make it happen...other is billet hybrid cam and rover heads..which will still be a performance gain...just not much compared to the price of conversion..

so if someone wants it..they'll make it happen and i'd also would like to be apart of it

Start pushing the BB and alot of flaws will show up too. You make more than 500hp and you need girdles to hold the block together. Not to mention you have to have the foresight to sonic check any block you one day intend to use for a high horsepower build or even overbore.

Each engine has its own pros and cons. Sure with an extra 105 cubes you will make more power easier than a 350 every time. The point isnt which engine can make more power, it is about maximizing the potential of each engine so that when the time comes to pick one to build we can make an educated choice based on budget, power goals and application.

This is a interesting thread, but I live in a world that requires my having to know what the cost is going to be of something before making a decision to purchase / provide deposit. Also a suggested production time would also be quite helpfull. Have I missed this in another posting?

Hey hey, he said peace, everything's cool. lol

BBB's are awesome for stock-moderate builds, and make incredible power for street, street/strip use. Their main issue is durability when you start hammering the power out or rev'ing them past 6000. To be fair, I've heard they're good to 600 hp, not 500, before you have to give them a jock strap. Might be dependent on what shape the casting's in though.

Where the 350 shines is it's cheaper to build if you go mild, gets better mileage, and is easier to find--especially earlier on with the big block swap craze going on. Might want to snatch you up a 350 while you can, because their popularity is increasing. They also hold up better under pressure without mods, and will probably be the next big thing with forced induction kits becoming more readily available for them.

We are All bark and no bite, Where does that come from? Of course we can't take the next leap forward with the horsepower We have nothing to put on the motor like alum heads and single plane.

The 455 guys dropped the 3k to get the heads and intake for the 455. What the 350 guys are not as rich as the 455 guys.

Really, what am I going to do with a Rover head, try and make it work on a 350? Oh I get it just forget the 350 and get the more available 300 motor.

Heck, we can't even get a single plane intake let alone heads.

Yeah your right why should I keep pissing around with the 350 I might as well put the 455 I have in and just scrap the 350,Who the heck wants to be different anyways.
