I,ve got a 340 and I know that it has many parts that interchange with the 350 like the crank, rods, timing gears/chain and timing cover, but does anybody know if the heads, intake manifolds or any other parts interchange.

Pretty much the only stuff that interchanges is on the front of the engine and the crank. Heads, intake, etc do not interchange... THe 340 heads are arranged different on the intake exhaust valves, like I E I E I E I E (or E I E I E I E I) while on the 350 the ports are arranged E I I E E I I E

If you can bolt the 350 heads on the 340 block (and I don't think you can) you would have to use a 350 camshaft due to the port arrangement above...

I believe that the camshaft and the connecting rods are interchangeable. Otherwise, the internals are different.

The cam shaft is not interchangeable, the 340 uses stepped bearings, they get smaller the further back in the block you goe, whereas the 350 cam bearings are all the same size.
I do believe the 350 heads will bolt onto the 340 block, if you were to align bore the cam journals in the 340, you could use the 350 cam, but then , why not just start with a 350 in the first place? Jim Burek
