    Hello!

    Long time lurker here.

Not too long ago I yanked the tired out Pontiac 301 out of my '77 Skylark and dropped in a Buick 350 from a '77 Regal that I'm pretty happy with.

The only problem: I wasn't able to get the frame mounts with it, so I chopped up some steel and made something that sort of works out of the Pontiac mounts. I'm not real happy with it and would like to get some real mounts. Where would be the best place to look? Are all the cradles the same in the A-bodies and X-bodies or do I need something close to my year?

Anybody have something that would work to sell me, maybe from a 350-to-455 swap?

    Thanks a bunch!

Noah, since these cars came with 350's in them, you should be able to get them at a local auto part store. if not, hit the wrecking yards. just make sure you ask for the BUICK 350, and make sure the momo's at the yards know you don't mean a chevy 305. if you still have no luck, ask BrunoD on these forums, he WILL have them.

Even easier is the 231 mounts are the same as the the Buick 350 mounts. Just find a '75-79 Skylark with the 231 V6 in it and those frame mounts will work. I have no clue what I did with my old 231 mounts, otherwise I'd send them to you.

    I used 1970 Skylark/GS 455 frame mounts for my 455 conversion.

All the auto parts stores around here have or can order are the block half of the mounts, even for the 231.

Nobody's got any old skylarks around the local junk yards and the few novas left have 250s and 305s in them. There are a few G-body cars that I've seen however. I think the next time I go junking I may see about getting the mounts from one of those with a 231.

    Thanks for the help!
