Hey guys, it's me again. This is my first rebuild and I think I'm doing ok. I'm still seeking advice and tips.
    I bought a new:

    1. starter/solenoid
    2. Alternator
    3. Trasmission gasket

I even bought a impact wrench from harbor freight( not the best but I got one). The car did run but a few months ago it stop on me and didn't restart. I drove it about 10 miles or so and it just stopped. So I'm thinking it's the 50 year old starter and alternator. Could someone please give me a quick 101 guide on how to change out the parts listed above. thanks guys

First charge battery and confirm what part it needs. The alternator has an external regulator on the firewall. If you charge battery and it doesn't start the it could be starter. If you charge battery and it does start it could be regulator or alternator. You should check all connections at starter for broken wires and for 12 volts. S terminal will have nothing until you turn key to crank position. Check connection at bettery and check battery for 12 volts. Start there.

Do not !!! Use impact wrench on trans pan bolts. They are in aluminum and will strip. . get an air ratchet - 1/4 drive. Or by hand. Loosen all the bolts on one corner and remove. Loosen the rest slowly and the first corner should drop first draining pan.

It has a new battery and the mechanic that helped me with the new brakes drove it and let it run for about 15 mins before I drove it home. The battery cables are new. I have to figure out where the tension pulley is located.

No tension pulley. Loosen alternator bolts. All of them and push alternator toward waterpumo. It should slide.
