So did the previous owner pick the colors himself or was that the painter's choice?

I think Bill and Tom talked about things and worked together on the color and ideas on the paint.

The Buick is over in a storage building so we can work on getting the garage in order. Tired of the garage looking like a junk yard.

Building out some custom seatbelts. My buddy Mike works for PPG in powder coating so he found this color for my seatbelt buckles and I dig it. We blasted some smooth buckles and I am washing up some Blue seatbelts. Not going with the GM logo on the button I am going to get custom stickers for the them. Should be a cool touch. I cant seem to get a pic of the this that shows a little flake in it but these look cool in the light.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Just read through, and enjoyed, this entire thread. Cool story. Love to see these old customs that have survived. Too many have had the paint damaged, etc. so they would be hard to save as they once were.

Seat belts? We don’t need no stinkin’ seat belts!
It needs etched crystal highball glasses in matching pockets on the console, along with a little container for, um, well ‘stuff’.

I am going to have to put some type of custom made console in this car. I need a place to put a drink when we take it out. I will make it removable but my hope is I can make one cool enough to be complimentary to the car.

Got a some new jewelry for my car today. I was able to find a set of old vintage 20th anniversary Cragar center caps from 1985. The last time my car was inspected was 1987 so that fits into the time frame ok with me. I also kind of like how they look. What do you guys think ?

Hard to find. They do not reproduce them. Cragar makes a 50th anniversary set but I wanted ones from back in the day when my car would have been shown. I have been looking ever since I found out about them. Talked to a guy in WV and he was a super cool car guy. These are limited edition and can get a bit pricey. He cut me a very fair deal after I showed him what they were going on. He also offered me the limited edition belt buckle that came with these but I did really need it and wasn't sure I would really find a good use for it so I passed on it. I really like these caps and its just a little more vintage cool detail on the car.

The ones you show on eBay are ok but I really wanted the 20th anniversary ones because it adds to the timeline when the car was being shown. I really don't want anything that you couldn't have had on the car from that time frame.

Took the old Buick out for a car cruise yesterday. It was nice to get it out for a drive. Dave and I need to play a game of count how many people point at the car next time I take it out lol. Sure gets a LOT of attention when we take it out.

    Pat,
I was in Greensboro at the "Cars and Coffee Cruise" last night. I am from Greensboro but live just outside of Greensboro now in Kernersville NC. Lots of cars came out to the event last night and it was fun to see some cool old cars cruising up and down the road just like back in the day when I was much younger.

Interesting question for members here. Does the 1970 GS have a over head light and rear sail panel lights ? I don't believe they did. My guess is that my car was originally a standard int car that had the over head light and when they upgraded the interior they put in the rear sail panel lights. What do you guys on here think ?

Special thanks to Brett Slater for texting me the LED bulbs needed for my interior. I was able to place a order and put them in my car. WOW. I should have done this a long time ago. At one of the shows last year it was late evening and I wanted to put the interior light on for people to see the interior but YUCK the factory lights were awful. The LED bulbs make such a huge difference and won't drain the battery nearly as bad as standard bulbs. They also won't get so damn hot lol. I don't plan on changing all the lights but I may add a few more LED bulbs to the car in select areas like under the hood and in the trunk. Makes seeing things so much better and really makes the interior pop in the evening. I will add pics later on.
