Looking for a 3.42 gearset for 68 to 70 Buick. This was the ratio used on Manual transmission GS's. If you have a complete axle (preferably posi) I could be interested in that also. Let me know--- thanks.

That 3.42 gear set ratio is remanufactured by Fabcraft. Brick Trick on this Board sells them. Buy new reproductions.

Some manual 70 GS 455s did run the 3.42 ratio. That was the top number for all AC 70 GS 455s regardless. Many non AC manual and auto trans non AC cars came with a 3.64 ratio. Those 3.64 gear sets are also remade by Fabcraft, but I recall a spacer is required.

I have a set of the 3:42 gears that were produced by Fabcraft that I would like to sell. New in the box. I no longer have a need for them.

I have a complete 3:64 10 bolt posi rear end out of a 70 Stage 1. 4-speed car. I think A/C cars had 3:42/1, and maybe the Automatics too. It’s been sand blasted but I haven’t gotten into it yet to check it out.

A 70 stage 1, auto trans without AC was also 3.64. A 70 auto trans, non stage 1, GS 455 was 2.93 standard.

It looks like you found what you need, but if not,I have a 3:64 that is more of a custom build. It consists of a 1970 ON housing, new FabCraft 3:64 gears, and a Tru-Trac unit that I made to fit the Buick. I would need $1400.00 for it though.
