Who is running the 275-60 ET Street Radials with and how fast are you going with them?

    Thanks Gary

    Im running the 275/60-15 Nitto drag radials. SBB w/nitrous 12.874 @ 104.79

    20 psi 1.88 60ft

My understanding is that the Mickey thompsons are reputed to be a little softer and hook better?

I was really wondering if anyone was in the low 10s or 9s. The heads up drag radial scene is huge around here and I would love to run one. I think they only one I could afford would be a 275-60 class with out and electric traction aids

A friend has been 9.30's with a 1.30 60ft on 275/60/15 MT radials in a Turbo Regal. Need a really good track to work and even then they like to shake down track.............

    Hey,

    Are the MT's street legal??

I was pretty disappointed in my BFG radials of the same size--seemed plenty slippery.

9.30s is getting it. I do not think I can get this motor into the 9s. I am more worried about the big motor.

Yes the MTs are DOT approved.

I got a buddy that has run 10.20-10.30s in a Pontiac Ventura with 1.4 60' times on them.

That is making me feel pretty good. I think I can put some power down on them. It would take 9.50s to win the class. I think if you hit the nitrous at the right time you could make it work.

The Hoosier drag radial seems to be the hottest one out there right now.

I've ran Drag Radials since the introduction of BFG's to there club members and have always thought the M/T versions were the best ones after trying both brands. My silver GS ran low 10's back in 2003 with 275/60-15's. If your car is set up well you can EASILY run 9's with these tires.

I have a brand new set of 275/60 - 15's in my shop that Al Corda received from Goodyear to try. This particular set isn't available to the public yet but they do have another version that is. I feel these will work as good if not better than the M/T's. They're SOFT!! They may not last as long but I think the 60 ft times will be better. (That's what most of us want right?)

We'll be trying them within the next couple of weeks on a 12 second car and a High 9 second street car. I'll post the results once we run em!

I have a set of the M/Ts on a 83 Regal with a 350 Buick engine, I ran the same car with a Big Block Buick and it went 11s. I also put the tires on my NSS 67 and went 10s with 1.40 60' times. I have had them since Micky first came out with them, never tried Hoosier.

I've got a friend at my local track with a newer malibu, small block chev., giant turbo, etc. He's been working on suspension set up most of the year. He finally made some full passes at the end of the year. 8.30's @ 168 mph. Pretty neat to watch. It stays pretty flat and you can hear the tires squeak most of the way. Scott

All of that is good to hear. I guess I should worry about getting more horsepower!

how well do they fit on the 7" rims? I'm lookin at grabbin a set in a month or so, but i remember their website said it's for "7.5-9.5". Would I be better off with a diff slick on 7" rims, I really dont want to buy another set of rims...

they will fit a 7in wheel just fine....with a wider wheel you would just get a slightly better contact patch

I like the Nittos for the street and MT for the track. I have run 1.70 60 ft at a lousy track on the Nittos. As far as 9's way out of my league.

saw don barnett reset the 275 drag radial record on sunday at the shakedown at e town and i believe he went 7.66 at some high mph. he made it look easy. the mickey thompsons in any size are awesome. just take a little figuring them out but they are just as good or better than slicks.
