    275-60-15 tires on the stock 15 X 6's...

Okay, before all the overcautious guys jump on this...hear me out. I have personally ran 275-60-15's on my Riv's (all '69's and one '68) with the factory 15X6 wheels with ABSOLUTELY zero problems!!! They are NOT too wide for the wheels, trust me, after you mount them you'll see what I mean. Wheel width recommendations are waaay exaggerated, for obvious reasons (read: liability). I also run them on the rear of my GS's, my '72 Stage1 and my '73 Stage1 I own now had 275-60-15's out back! Again, with ZERO problems and thay look great! The fronts should be 255-60-15's if you want it to look halfway normal, anything smaller (ex: 245-60-15's) look way too small under the front of these huge cars. I would highly recommend the 255-60-15's on the front and the 275-60-15's out back, you will never be happier, they will fill up the wheelwells as much as possible and still give the car a nice stance. The other option you have is a 235-70-15 all around on the Riv's...if you want a stock performance look, there is no other choice, plus they are a smidge taller and look better from the side, in all seriousness, this is the closest to the factory size. Radial T/A's have always been my tire of choice for the Buicks, just put a new set on the '73!

I have run 275-60's on the stock wheels on a 66 Riv. Currently running a set of 275's on a Boattail too with aftermarket wheels. The 70 is harder to fit fat wheels or tires under with the addition of one of my most hated features,,,, fender skirts. Those wide tires really make an old Riv come alive when looking at it.
