There's less than a month left to get your registrations in for the National Meet, and, if you're anywhere close to the Pacific Northwest, you won't want to miss it. Please post if you need any information regarding registration, BCA membership, tour schedules, etc. We really want to see you and your Buicks there.
I won't be able to make it this year, already went on vacation, plus I still need to renew my membership. So many Nats. have been nearby here, and I have never had a chance to go. 2008 is out also, so maybe 2009, Or I might hit a regional.
Thanks for letting us know! I'm not far from Bellevue (well, as the crow flies, anyway). I'll try to make it out there. Bob
Bob, are you located on Bainbridge Island? Looks from your avatar that you have a '57 Century convertible. Not only do I hope you come, but I also hope that you'll show your Buick! Please let us know if you need additional information. If you're not a BCA member, I understand that the new June issue of the Buick Bugle (I have not yet seen it) is devoted to the 1957 models. I receive two copies, and will set one aside for you.
i got mine(bugle)now i want a 57ou: and a 55/56/61/59 nice cars! great coverage:TU: see ya in bellevue:TU:
Hi Kris, I will meet this evening with the National Meet Committee. I will try to learn those meeting times and will reply back to you tomorrow.
Kris, my understanding is that the BCA Board has determined that the Board Meetings during the National Meets will always be conducted on Friday. Pat Lesesne, National Meet Director for the Seattle Nationals, believes that the BCA Board will meet on Friday (7/27) morning at 8:00 AM. The General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Thursday (7/26) afternoon at 5:30 PM. This meeting conflicts with the XXX Drive-In tour, but, as Pat pointed out, so many meetings and activities are crammed into the few days of the National Meet that it is nearly impossible to avoid schedule conflicts.
Thanks Brian. If I can attend, it will be last minute and I want to know what times to schedule a flight around.
I'm looking forward to seeing several of you in a couple of weeks at the Buick National Meet. Please let us know if you have any last minute questions. The response has been excellent to this first-ever Pacific Northwest National Meet, and the registrations continue to arrive daily.
Hey Brian, quick question. Since I am able to make the meet-for a few days at least-and not bringing a car, can I still mail a registration form? Will happily judge and even bring an extra along.
Kris, yes, by all means mail in the registration form. We will continue to process registrations received through July 22, at which point the computers will be moved to the host hotel. Even those of you who wish to bring a car (but have not previously registered) may still register your Buicks for display only. Looking forward to seeing you all next week!
ok,question on judging.i entered the "archival" judging.i have an aftermarket under dash cd player & an alarm system on the 69 225.speakers in the package tray,am i going to get docked for that?do i need to pull the stuff?obviouslly i cant pull the speakers, but i could pull the cd player & alarmo No:maybe i should switch to driven class? also,i'm wanting to sell the car,but didnt go for the car corral fee.can i still hang a for sale sign in it?and what day is judging, trying to figure out if i show up wed/thursday?
The judging occurs on Saturday morning, beginning at 9:00 AM. There will be a points deduction in the Archival Class for the items you've identified, but these items alone may not prevent you from receiving an Archival Award. Driven class, which is handled with "minimal judging", might have been a better class for the car. I wouldn't be terribly concerned about changing classes at this point, unless being assured that you'll win an award is important to you. You may be able to make the change at the meet registration desk itself. No, "For Sale" signs are not permitted on the show field, so you'd have to opt for the car corral if this is something you'd like to do. Look forward to seeing you and the 225!
thanks for the respose brian:TU: im not going to pull the cd player,i need something to listen to on the 6 hr drive:TU: i guess im going to switch to the drivin class.just had the mailman show up,with a fire hazzard letter from the belllevue fd.i have to clean up the property:moonu: i hate king county:moonu: someone reported my dads house as a fire hazzard, and its not.:eek2: :eek2:
Maybe you can hook up a mow deck to the convert - that ought to handle it! It appears that I won't make Saturday. Even though I fly home very late Friday night, plans have already been made that will take up my Saturday. Oh well, priorities would change if they found a way to make 112th into a one-day-only dragstrip...
yep,im going to bring my mower over,in the trunk of my 225,if i get pulled over, imagine the cops face:laugh: no drugs, just a lawnmower, sir:bglasses:
Brian, Having never been to a national meet before, I have one question. I signed my father up as my guest and I would like to bring him on Saturday to look at the cars. I assume that during the judging you aren't allowed to look at the cars, but after the judging can you go look at the cars? I think the judging ends at 2:00PM? __________________ Sean Smith BCA# 42746
