... only wish they brought one of the hot wagons over when they did the GTO/G8 thing - there was rumor it might happen but it never did

I sold my 04 GTO just this year with 25,000 miles on it. I de-modded it before it was sold, but at one time I had it running 10's with a supercharger, cam, headers, etc. Won trophies at the track and alot of car shows with that thing, it was immaculate. Even after I took all of the performance goodies off of it, I still got 16,500 for it. They are great cars. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. TO the OP - the deal you posted on that car is damn good! In fact, if you don't buy it, PM me details on it.

I ended up not buying it, but I did test drive it. It certainly draws a crowd. lol I went in to the dealership and two kids were driving it. One wanted it, but was waiting on his dad to co-sign for the loan. After a little bit, they left and the salesman brought me the keys and plate. He only knew that my name was Scott and then handed me the keys and said to go have fun. I thought that was kind of odd, to not take even a copy of my license.

I hadn't driven a stick in a long time, so I putted around the parking lot for a few minutes before heading out on the road. As soon as a pulled out, a local police officer made a u-turn and started following me. I kept it at the speed limit and turned in to a church parking lot to look under the hood and in the trunk. I guess he got tired of waiting for me to break the law, so he left. lol As soon as he left, I went back down the road that he was following me on, and let the car loose. I stopped on a concrete bridge and before I knew it I was in 3rd gear, an right at around 100 mph. It was a VERY fast car, probably a little too fast for me, considering I'm an aggressive driver out on the road. One thing that I did notice when I got on it a bit, is that the ride is very harsh and it seemed as though it really wants to spin the tires without even trying.

There were some issues with the car that I didn't see when I looked at it the first time. It looked as though someone had hit a little stake in the ground or something on the right side, right behind the door. It was something that would need bodywork to get rid of, but not a huge deal. The paint had several scratches that looked like they would buff out, it looked like some drove through a bunch of brush with it. There were chips in the paint, all along the leading edge of the hood, but that is to be expected. It looks like it could benefit from a respray before too long. The trunk looked like they were hauling hay bales or something. Dirty, but nothing horrible. Both back seats suffer from the stitching coming apart. All in all though, other than the harsh ride, which may be bushings, I'd give the car an 8.0-8.5/10. I love the exhaust sound, I hope my GS will sound at least that good when I get her done. :3gears:

After I drove it, they sent me an email saying that they would come down to $13,100 for it. They had a lot of interest for it, but mostly from people outside of our area. Since it was a Chrysler dealership, they just wanted it gone, without having to ship it. I thought seriously about it and went back the next day to see if maybe they would let me get it for $13,100 out the door, or maybe knock just a bit more off, to offset the taxes and plates, but it was gone. I guess it wasn't mean to be. But, now that I've driven one, and saw how fast and comfortable they are, I might be in the market for one in a few months, once I see about buying a house.
