Just wondering who is planning on attending! I'll be there on Wednesday evening with the convertible and the typical crew following behind. I think there are about 8 or 9 cars from our chapter attending this year. Visit http://www.buickclub.org/ for more info! July 6-9, 2005 Hope to see you there! :beer :3gears: I'll be trying out the "modified" judging system this year.
I'll be there Wednesday, noonish I hope, in the swap meet! and driving the '68 GS Convertible to the hotel and back. See you there!
Me My son and I will be there Wednesday evening, we will have a major group of the Greater Pittsburgh Area Chapter traveling up Thursday.
Adam - I must have missed it, but, do you have an address to where the event is held? I'm going to try to make it......we'll see how it goes. At least it's only a 3hr. drive or so. :TU:
Scott, hit the link in Adam's post for the BCA website, the show is in Batavia, NY, 3 hrs from Binghamton, on a good day, Rt 17 or whatever it is called I86 to I 390 to the Geneseo Exit to 63 and north to Batavia, then make a right on 98 and make a left on Park Rd right before the Thruway entrance and down the street will be the show at the Holiday Inn. You can also go up by the lake on rt 14, to Geneva and then on the Thruway, west to exit 48, Batavia, and hang a left on 98, and then an immediate right to Park Rd, and you'll be at the show, if you are bringing a car to show, etc, must be BCA member to participate in the show, but not to wander and enjoy the cars or swap meet, as that is free! You just have to find a place to park.
I'll be there :TU: Its only 30 minutes from my house..... :bglasses: :3gears: Any new info on the racing? :beer
I'll be there too, it's only about 30 minutes from my house also. Hopefully the weather will cool down by then........it's been near 90 the last few days and it's been so darn hazy and humid the sweat just drips from your face if you try to do anything outside. ou:
It'll be nothing like Plano was last year:shock: Definitely a hot one there. Good thing the hotel had a pool to cool off. Last year, we all got a cooler full of beer and headed to the pool at about 11pm. We made it for about a half hour until the rent-a-cop booted us out. I told him they need to lock the doors if they don't want people coming in!!! So we went to the parking lot and got hammered.o No:
Adam, I'm not sure about the temp in Batavia, compared to Plano, as in '89 the first year of the 400 Point judging for the BCA, it was hot, and not fun out there on the blacktop, but hopefully will be better in 2005, as far as the racing deal, it's still on, I have asked to cut the time down to 3 to 4 hrs, instead of 6, but it's still under discussion, from what I know. R
If it runs I will be there. If I get my engine back together and in the car and running I will be there. I just am not sure what days. :3gears:
I should be there My car should be running by the end of the week. If nothing bad happens we'll be there, if troubles arise I'll be going stag! :ball: Mike, on the back of the BCA news letter it said Leicester. - Jeff
Jeff, There had been talk on the BCA web site about it being moved to Lancaster. I have not heard anything since, one way or the other.. o No:
Lancaster At Lancaster, which is 1/8 Mile IHRA on the straightaway of the roundy round track. Thursday, July 7, Link here
Roberta, Since it is now at Lancaster, does the BCA have the whole track rented or is the general public allowed to race (chevy, ford, etc...). What is going on before race time? Could be a pizza and wing party at my house :Brow: I live about 5 miles from the track.... :beer
Mike, as far as know they have the track rented. Spectators are welcome, too. I have no idea what they are going to charge to race, etc...... OR basically much of anything else.
Lancaster works for me! Leicester would have been okay but it's kinda out in the middle of nothing. - Jeff
Batavia I am going to make the drive from Orlando and expect to get there Wed afternoon. I am out to enjoy this as much as possible and am not trying to break speed records in the process. Look for the Seamist Green convert and tell me you are from the V8 board. Don' think it can get hotter than Orlando in July, so I should be doing real good.
1320 or 660? Why did they switch from 1/4 mile to 1/8 mile? o No: ----that really sucks :spank: NYIRP is closer and better. If the BCA wants to get more members they should stick to REAL drag racing ---1/4 mile. I guess I'll go on my own to NYIRP on Friday night and race then. :3gears: Anyone else prefer the 1320? NYIRP
