Drum roll please, Here is the list of car show winners. I put it in a word document, so everyone can download it. Duane
Thanks Duane. I am going to do the Appraisal on Pat & Phil Dayen's 69 when I go back up on the 8th. This is just another helpful piece of information on the documentation of the car, I have to add to the "BOOK" I plan on sending to Corporate for the information I turn in. Thanks Again JR
best JR I think it can be easily stated that this is the finest 69 GS 350 anywhere and one of the finest GS's in existance - I have known this car for years and it has garnered every award it has ever gone after, people are amazed when they find out it's driven. AACA Senior Grand National/BCA Senior Gold/GS Gold - for those that don't know the car it was purchased new by Phil & Pat and driven as there everyday driver for years, their daughter did the college thing in it, then Pat had a little run in with the front of the gargage which sent the car to the back corner of the driveway for a few years, well, that is well behind the car now since undergoing a complete every nut and bolt frame off restoration
JR, What Keith said. That 69 GS 350 drives me crazy, I like it better every time I see it. Generally I don't go for green cars, but if it ever comes up for sale, everybody that wants it had better hope I don't have any money. David, There would have been a winner if anyone had put a car in that class. Duane
Ken McMillan had his 69 GS Calif out there, didn't he actually enter? I know he had to make a trip into town to pick up the ladies, after the show ended, and he missed the awards ceremony, was that an issue? Just curious.
Keith You failed to mention that Phil and Pat accomplished this resto, except for the paint, at their home. My hat goes off to any one that takes on this task themselves. The car is driven to most of the shows. Phil has been searching for parts as long as I have known him. You guys are right this is one of the finest 69 GS's in the country. Dave
If you ever get a chance to talk to Phil and Pat about their 69 GS you will be amazed at how much work it needed to be put back into that condition. I guess the whole front cowl area below the windshield had to be replaced because of rust ( a very common and usually hidden rust area). Phil and Pat drive that car all over the place and I always seem to run into them at most major car shows. Phil said that he has made his reservations for the BCA Nationals in Batavia NY next year so I am sure I will see him there. It was good to see and talk to him at the BPG Nationals. I was kind of surprised that he knew about the club. I guess that means the word is getting out. :TU:
I wanted to note that one more name was added to the list of winners Class E 68-69 GS Closed, 4960 McMillan (Winner) Duane
