    You can change that if you wanted to.

    An overdrive trans and a better compression ratio from better heads and or better pistons. You could probably get 20 + MPG on the highway with those mods.

    The Park Ave with the center padded console was basically the same interior as the Cadillac Talisman except the Cadillac had it in the rear as well. The lowly Buick once again out Cadillaced Cadillac by offering an interior that was on par with the highest priced and exclusive Cadillac upload_2018-3-23_19-14-55.png

    Oohh! The Buick has the fancier door pulls! I’m more familiar with late ‘70s Cadillacs than the pre-downsizing big cars, but one of the differences between Fleetwoods and lesser cars was the metal doorknocker looking thing. (Just like G body Regal Limiteds). They made the straps seem so cheap. Chalk up one for Buick!

    Could it be that the "door knocker" handle on my 82 Regal is the same part number? I can't tell the size by the pic's. I guess when I get a chance i'm going to measure it for curiousity.

    I have always LOVED the 1976 Park Avenues. I would be interested in seeing or learning more about the 1975 Park Avenue "Deluxe" cars if there is anyone who has a picture or info on the "Deluxe" option. From what I gather, it was a 1975 only option and discontinued due to poor sales

    i just cant see me having a console instead of a full bench seat in a full size car like this . ive always liked bench seats in any vehicle .

    I prefer a split bench or this setup, that way I can be comfortable as well as a passenger, the likelihood of me carrying more than 2 passengers in the front are somewhere close to zero percent. That was always one of my peeves about Centurions that they didn't offer buckets or split bench

    I agree. I thought it was always odd that there were a far larger percentage of the 71 to 76 Cadillac Sedan Deville's that had the full bench as opposed to the split bench. Like you, the odds of having a 3rd passenger in my front seat are close to ZERO. I absolutely love the interiors of the Park Avenues and the console is totally pimp to me. I love love love them. Oddly enough, I think the "Mahogany Pattern" velour upholstery in the regular 1976 Limited cars looked better. (See in attached picture). It just SCREAMS 1976 to me hahaha. I was very lucky during my Buick restoration to find a 25 yard roll of my factory burgundy NOS velour upholstery on Ebay. I bought it immediately just to have for the future should I ever need to have the seats and door panels recovered. Brochure.PNG

    From what I gather on the FB page, there were only 37 Park Avenue "Executive Deluxe" cars ever built. There was no options excluded from those cars. I love every option except the ugly front and rear bumper guards, halo roof and automatic ride height option. (I think that option makes the cars ride too high in the rear end and detracts from the low low look in the rear that I love

    I agree but I am somewhat of a purist. I like all the cars in my collection to be as close to factory as possible. Even though that means that my 76 Electra is the lowest horsepower of of the entire Buick 455 run. :(

    Also stangs, on the FB page were someone showed the pic of the halo option and a little bit of the of the dealer brochure, what is the 3 different cloth patterns or thickness the brochure is showing? I can't make out the writing.

    I agree there on the keeping it factory part . luckily I love almost everything my car came with . sure ive done small things like an extra ground cable from the motor to the frame as im anal about having good ground wire on vehicles . extra cable hooked up but hidden on the hood latch should the one you pull by the kick panel ever break .

    lol I had this interior in my old 76 Limited. So comfortable...and much more durable that the standard fabric thats in my current 225.

    I agree with you but my Buick was devoid was both is factory original catalytic converter and single exhaust when I purchased it. Try to find a 1976 catalytic converter now days!!! haha My car is by no means loud but the dual exhaust has a very nice deep big block sound to it. In 1976, the Electra 255 could be ordered in either vinyl or solid color cloth. The Limited cars came with "Mahogany Velour" (in 4 available colors) or the leather option. The Park Avenue cars had their own specific velour or the optional leather. As for the thickness, I will tell you that the NOS roll I purchased off Ebay is VERY thick material. My upholstery shop guy told me that that material was some of the most durable fabric ever put in a car. The Park Avenue velour fabric sample on the following page of my Dealers Sales Brochure is MUCH thinner than the "Mahogany" velour material that was offered in the Limited cars

    Here is a link to one of the most highly optioned 1976 Buick Electra's I have ever seen. It was a low mileage car with nearly every option including leather. It even had the dealer installed CB radio and the clear acrylic "Stone/Bug Protector" on the front of the car. (I purchased a NOS one of those just to say I have it, but cant bring myself to install it on my car. The link has a LOT of pictures and should be very helpful for anyone trying to restore one of these cars back to original condition. Here is the link.

    wow that is insanely clean , cant fault anything , thanks for sharing . I had the dealer installed bug guard on my 72 when I bought it but took it off . just didn't do it for me I guess . need to dig it out and sell it I guess .

    I was not aware until just a couple weeks ago that the 1974 Electra 2 door coupe cars could be either hardtop or post cars. (Although the factory listed all 2 door Electra's from 1971 to 1976 as hardtops) Apparently, if you ordered a 2 door Electra in 1974 with the "Landau" option the car had a post. Strangely, the post was NOT the same a on the 1975-1976 2-door cars. I find it odd that Buick would opt to make a completely different roof for a single year production and option on a car. I will attach photos of both to this post. Did the 1974 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight do the same thing? I cant seem to find 1974 2 door Ninety Eight with a post
