Now the prices of the tilt/telescope steering and air cushion restraint. The reason why the Park Avenue with air restraint was less expensive is because it deleted the tilt/telescope.
The reason why air restraint option was less expensive on the Riviera (compared to the other Buick models) is because it had a standard tilt steering which was also deleted when you ordered the air bags.

If you made a thread, chances are lots of Riviera guys would come out of the woodwork with good information. Rivieras were actually a model where as all this information here is just about the flagship top trim line.

What colors was the Park Avenue interior made in? I just read somewhere that most were made in blue, buckskin, and red. I have also seen black? Was it offered in the sorta green color like in Phil's '75?

Also on one of those links posted; The black Park Avenue, the one with the several piictures. It says 1 of 10? Did he mean 1 of 37, or did he mean 1 of 6042? Is there any way to visually recognize a deluxe trimline without looking at the build sheets?

It was available in black but not in green.

This car doesn't have the telescope wheel, so it isn't a deluxe... I'd say it is one of the 6042 "W10" Park Avenues built.

park ave interior, and definition of 1 of 37

1 of 37 redefined is the the first 37 off the line in august of 74 for the 1975 year of the introductory Park Ave, 37 were built and fully loaded, then production stopped, early oct resumed reproduction with option to delete spendy items but not the buckets and console, Interiros were the black velour, burgundy velour and blue and saddle or tan velour, only. Have numbers of each produced back in first start of this conversation, with total number of parks at 6667. the first are referred as "executive deluxe park ave" and add 10% as guide prices if you have an august production car in 1974. Do not have papers infront of me but will dig out if need the numbers per color. Air cars (airbag) cars are quite rare, best to hang on to those. craig

Of all the 33778 1975 Limited 4 dr produced, 123 had the air bags. 83 of them didn't have the Park Avenue package and the 40 others were Park Avenues. None of the 40 Park Avenues with air bags had the 60/40 seat. So there were 40 with air bags and 40/40 seats. I have no production breakdowns to see how many of those 40 had the Deluxe package, probably not many...

By the way, it was still possible to order a fully equipped Park Avenue later in the 75 model year, but many of the options included in the Deluxe had to be ordered individually and some of them were rarely ordered... And even the Park Avenue Deluxe didn't include all options, Craig said that some were not even available in the early model year.
Of all the cars that I have seen, all do lack some options, and it's sometimes impossible to order an option if you choose another one...

I think I'd rather have the tilt/telescoping wheel than the airbag. I know it was mentioned before, but I don't know if it was answered. Was the glass moonroof available on the 4 door model? I didn't know if the hardtop structure would be rigid enough with a 5 square foot hole cut into the roof.

I'd prefer a Buick with the standard steering wheel or the air bag steering to one with the telescope steering. I had one in my 76 Electra and I hated it.
Unlike the other steerings offered in the 1974-76 Buicks, the tilt/telescope steering was made of hard plastic that was very prone to crack. The grips at the back of the rim had sharp angles which my fingers didn't like! The decorative woodgrain strip which is on the rim instead of being on the horn pad like it is on the standard steering and wears off quickly. On mine, all what was left was the transparent plastic strip on which the woodgrain was originally applied.
And I haven't found the telescopic feature to be very useful either. When the steering is pulled, the steering gets too far from the flasher lever and, in my opinion, the driving position can't be ameliorated compared to the position you get with a non-telescopic tilt steering.

One of the reasons why I searched for a car with the air bags is because the shoulder belts were deleted on these. I'm probably one of the few that still doesn't wear seat belts but I really hate it! I have been arrested for not wearing it in a car with shoulder belts but I'd be very surprised if it happens in a car with lap belts only!

Park Avenues were only built as 4 door models right?

Yes, I think the first year for the 2 door Park Avenue was 1978.

buickapollo455, were you ever able to track down some of the shag carpet that was in the original Park Avenue? I'm looking at replacing my the carpet in my limited, and well, I might as well go with the good stuff, if I can find it.

Also, I read through the thread again, just for a refresh...Don't you have a Park Avenue with white interior?

These things truly are quite rare, I've only seen a few on eBay since this thread died down...

"Electramanrob" at the AACA forum started the 1975-1976 Park Avenue Registery.
He owns something like ten Park Avenues, including a 1975 PA convertible:
