    “B” is probably for hardtop. Yes I agree that VIN looks very strange, I’ve heard that so many times about Stampings being bad days, new guy, drunk on a Friday..........but almost always there’s some other question mark in addition to the stamping, I bet engine or trans or both don’t match up, so then that’s the 2 questions.

    Meaning “B” = No vinyl top, no sun roof with which was available. I am guessing, I’m not well versed in the 73-74 cars.

    It’s an early build car (09C, third week of September ‘72). I’d bet that it had a black vinyl top. B is Buick’s code for black vinyl in ‘72. Other sources say B is black vinyl in ‘73 too.

    There's another one of these in black with green guts, on Craigslist somewhere in maybe Colorado, which looks a lot more righteous for a lot less money.

    Just went and looked. Facebook Marketplace. Lakewood Colorado. It's a Century with a 350-4 and no factory A/C, but 53k miles, and looks like it. $16,500.
