The crappy steel GM got stuck with in 73 came from Japan. I guess Japan had lower standards back then. The steel had almost no nickel in it which is why it rusted almost immediately. The receiving inspection people at GM should have caught it but didn't somehow.

Thanks Tom...Hope to bring it out to Michigan someday, got to run the 65 first though. I haven't changed anything since I got it from out in Mojave, and it's a good thing that's where it came from cause out east these cars have been long gone for 20 years or better. I'm itching to convert it back to the 4 speed (it came with everything, every, nut, bolt and washer) but the Kenne Bell SP400 is a great trans...the car is full of KB stuff, bought right over the counter in LA..I just got to get it all working well together.

If you had to sell the black car to buy your wife's 72, I get that. Too bad you never had the chance to really run this car in optimum set up.

Any luck finding a decent Nailhead car?

I picked up this one owner Stage 1 last spring and I find that I drive it more than my other cars as I just really like the way it drives.

I recently treated her to some new 15" Rims and 275 / 60 TA's. Before and after pic.

I am looking for some original bumper strips and front Bumperettes if anyone has a line on these.

  4. I'm new here but it makes me happy to see 1973 - 1975 Buick Century/Regals still out there, since joining this site is
making me think Skylarks, seems to be the car of choice here. :)

Hey Mike! Nice article in Muscle Car Review!

The 4 speed knobs were all black with the pattern on them. I still have the original knob from my old car.

Mine has the original too - might be able to pull a part number off it if you need.

I used a repro white ball on my old 71 GS and it was fine. I like the white, personal preference.

There not perfect but I have these. $60 + shipping?....

I agree with everyone about parts being hard to find I had to look high and low for the front bumper and interior plastic around the rear side windows.

    73BuickGS455 A Long Restoration

Jason, isn't this your old 4 speed car, which I have the original roof from?

And I remember that white SunCoupe on ebay. George are you working on both of them?

My car had a white painted top which was switched to black during its restoration. I'd love to get that car back one day
