In general (sans a 4-sp.) I agree but for that car, I could make an exception just as I have for my '71 convertible since buckets weren't officially avail.

There's a thread or two about this car on here.

That is a great 1972 GS Stage 1 with all the right options ,no AC ,tach and gauges,F41 boxed lowers/ rear bar,D35 Sport mirrors and N25 exhaust.

Triple black, I could overcome the tree selector.

Previously he was asking $65k without the original wheels and tires (he did say they could be purchased separately). Now it's $67,500 but the original wheels and tires will be included (car is sitting on reproduction wheels and tires).

I have wanted this car since I was a kid and first saw it in person at the GS Nats.

Go get 'er:). I would if I had the space/$ although on principle I wouldn't pay more than $65k w/the orig. wheels. At $60k I'd feel like buyer/seller got a very fair deal.

Looks like the 8-track was added and while it definitely came w/a tach orig. (according to the window sticker), isn't that a early '70 tach currently installed? Hard to make out the window sticker but looks like it orig. had door edge guards but no body side molding & appears to have orig. had all clear glass.

I disagree, it might be your favorite but it’s far from the best. Case-in-point, Sobotka’s 1972 GSX is way better and more desirable.

Yeah I like this car a lot, but I think I would pick at least a few of the 72s we had at MCACN before this one.

Best in the sense that it’s the best lowest mileage, nicest unrestored ‘72 GS.

I should have been more clear. Yes, the best low mileage unrestored '72 Stage 1 and my favorite. I prefer that over a '72 GSX as I like the more understated look as opposed to the stripes and spoiler approach.

It has a correct tach with the shorter numbers:

Here is a tall number tach from an early '70 model for comparison:

Good. Unless I see them side by side... In the pic on Hemmings they looked tall to me.

Every time I read something like this I realize just how little I know about this hobby.

You can also spot a reproduction tach because of the faceplate screws. Here is a reproduction tach, notice it only has two screws and they at 3 & 9 o'clock. An original tach has three screws (5, 7, & 12 o'clock positions).
