Hello All, I am working on a resto of a 1970 Skylark Convertible. I had ordered some trunk floor extensions back in November and now being told they are discontinued. I was able to get the passenger side, but not the driver side. It was a Sherman part (SHI-667-61L) and I have not found any other supplier. These all seem quite different from the different makes of cars so not sure what I have for options here. Does anybody have a suggestion for what can be used and possibly modified for the best fit. Thanks.

More discontinued repro parts... Was hoping that'd never be an issue.

    Dano,
I warned people about this 20+ years ago at the Restoration Clinics we used to have at the GS Nats.

The idea back then was they could always buy the reproduction parts later, so the owners focused on the hard to find original parts first.

In the mean time the guys that went out on a limb to reproduce the parts everyone said they needed, kept starving.

Now we are seeing another “wave” of reproduction parts going away.

I was able to order one from Desert Valley. Cost is fairly high, but they are taking it off an existing car and I know what a pain that is and how much labor/time involved.

The right side is the only repop available, but it is not that great. Ended up taking sections off of it and butt-welding onto an original. I am cutting up a body that has nice ones,so the surrounding parts are getting sacrificed.
