Bid over 35k with 7 days left.. lots of assembly required https://www.ebay.com/itm/354081999443?hash=item5270ee8a53:g:2RwAAOSw8lZikn1h
There was a thread on it on here by the owner (@BuicksB4Anything IIRC) asking for opinions on its value that was deleted after several of us chimed in (@GSXER, myself, @gsjo, & @Brian Albrecht come to mind). Joe & I were in the $30k range (+/- $5k). Joe somehow knew the owner wanted to "ask" $80k. It sits at $40k as of now & reserve not met so we'll see what happens.
Yes, one of the Patricks (Kyle, Quinton). He was gauging interest when he posted here and on FB for $80,000. They did the same thing with Joe's (GXSER's) GSX last year- put a huge asking price and accepted whoever had the highest offer. Same thing here. Jason Cook taught me; "start with a high price, as you can ALWAYS go lower... but you can never go higher"...
Hopefully someone has a stash of parts to fix it up. I'm doing a 70 stage 1 hardtop and hate most aftermarket parts. Finding original parts in good shape is the struggle..
"The vehicle needs work and is not regularly driven." Why not just drive it as is while you restore it? (Lol, yes, I saw the pictures.)
Actually also die hard Buick guys. This one has been with us for a couple years believe it or not. Slowly doing stuff to it as we could.
Bidding has reached over $43k. I find a car like this is hard to put a concrete price on when there are so few examples, plus with an ever changing market that changes yearly something that sold last year could have a different value this year. If anybody has any questions on the car my inbox is open. This car has documention of every owner since it was brand new, including the protecto plate.
holy mother, bidding at 46k with 4 days left. the world has gone mad! not knocking seller i hope he gets as much as possible for his car! charlie.
The bid amount isn't really a good indicator of market price until/unless the reserve is met / car is sold. Although a high bid price that is under the reserve may help a seller get more for the car later if the reserve isn't met. "I turned down a bid of $XX, so it will take more than that to buy the car". :>)
Chris I agree. I think most all know you cannot always take an ebay bid on reserve seriously for several reasons. Even when sold on ebay you see them relisted
She's back online.. buy it now 48.5k obo.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/354226846330?hash=item527990ba7a:g:KeUAAOSwfLBi-uUx
Getting closer to what I'd originally said it's worth and even then need the right person willing to put out that kind of $ & tackle the project.
That’s the key here. Someone who has the money lol. If someone came out and made a fair offer they’d be getting a hell of car with paperwork back to when it was new.
