The paint on the front fenders looks different , thus new fenders along the way with an idiot repositioning the emblems !!! Bill
I hope that my message did not come out wrong. I was in no way implying that you were at fault in any way, shape or form.
Man I wish Frank. My car has been away since October 15. We have had some glorious weather since, but I always put my car away early, so that I don't get caught by early inclimate weather. Cheers
PS front bumper tweaked (crooked plate mount) dash pad has a worse than OEM sag Big car pass. side door mirror Dash panel chrome/wood grain all wrong Spare tire cover hold down all wrong Shitty replacement headliner with poor vizor and sail panel job Add 100K to the 20K mileage statement No dash gages Poor mans Stage I ??
It also has the classic cheap plastic fuel filter that has been the cause of many engine fires and the destruction of many classic vehicles.
Are you sure on this? As F41 is an option for a Stage 1.. And in 1969, I know the boxed lower control arms/ rear sway bar were an option.. .
I sent a message to the seller on ebay about the window sticker being a repro and suggested that he state that in his ad. He responded with just "Thanks".
He is a known flipper with mostly overpriced vehicles that almost always have covered up issues. I would avoid unless the vehicle is thoroughly inspected. His place is not to far from me and family in the area.
He sent me pictures of the BB code transmission tag and VIN stamp and it matches . He also sent a poor picture of where the engine stamp would be and he couldn't even wipe away all the oil and sludge so you can see the stamping. Other pictures show seepage in several parts of the engine and transmission. He said he has the correct Q-Jet but I will wait and see for further pictures. I will post what pictures I have some time tomorrow along with the rust pictures. I may go take a look since I can stop by and visit family in the area if he sends me more pictures.
Thanks for adding door rust pictures. Very telling. I think we were under the impression the fenders were replaced due to a frontal collision, now I think it's very possible it was because of rust issues. That car needs a lot of restoration to get it to show condition.
Still no picture of the Passenger/battery area of the core support. I would assume the is quite a bit of rust that has been covered up. I personally would not want to repair any potential major rust issues at that price even though I have the skill set to do so but very time consuming.
With all said about the negatives and things to be cautious about, this is still a numbers matching 1970 GS Stage 1 and, if bought anywhere below $30K, is still a good survivor IMHO.
Nope. No picture of the carburetor. Just sent a picture of the body plate as requested and pictures of the incorrect carburetor on the engine presently. I doubt he has it.
You forgot to add another 1k+ for a core support and RH inner fender since I am going to assume they are rusted out and damaged if no pictures. I can probably source a clean pair of doors out here in CA for $500. Not sure how long it has been for sale. Asked for a build sheet but he always refers back to the reproduction window sticker like an idiot.
