Testing the waters in my 1970 GSX clone. It is a true GS455 and I have the original build sheet. I am a GM enthusiast and this was the first classic car I purchased in 20 years since I was a teenager. I purchased from Mecum in 2015. Have since put approximately 1,000 miles on it. Per auction details and some documentation it is said to be rebuilt to stage 1 specifications.

I have been dealing with 2 issues with the car. It started to leak transmission fluid several months after I bought it. A member of this forum worked on it for me replacing the gasket and the speedometer cable housing. It kept leaking a bit, and several attempts to fix it likely lead to the bolts being over tightened and the gasket getting cracked. Since then the speedometer gear has also been replaced by a classic car repair shop. Still likely needs gasket replaced. Last summer I was changing the temperature and I heard and felt a “boing”. Now the car is stuck on heater, but the lever is stuck on cool (moves but always goes back to cool). I have yet to address that as this winter in Denver we did not drive it often.

I am not desperate and do not need to sell, but I do now have 3 cars (69 442 and 68 gto also) and am looking to downsize. Asking $33,000. Located in Littleton Colorado.

    Hello!
Love the car, and the cars! GM A-Body all the way!!

I was wondering if you knew what the original exterior and interior color was?
Could you possibly take a picture of the body tag on the cowl?

Do you know if the engine and Trans are original to the car, and just upgraded to Stage 1 or if they were replaced?

    Thanks,
    Philip T.

I have the build sheet. From what I have been told from a trusted member of this forum it was blue with vinyl top. From someone who I sent the build sheet picture last month who was interested I think they thought it was green. I don’t have the car here now it is at the storage facility and I don’t have a picture of the cowl tag.

I do not believe the engine or trans is matching but believe they are period correct. I’m sorry as I stated I really just like driving old cars and know what kind I like, but don’t know much about mechanics. Let me know if you have any more questions and I’ll try to answer.
    Thank you!
