    Hey guys,

Does anyone know what the original transmission paint color is ?
Is there a paint code or what paint is best to use to look original.

    Thanks,

    Z

I think he meant bare aluminum. I painted mine with VHT aluminum color so it would stay looking nice. Been very happy with it. Not concourse or original, but looks good.

I was thinking of using Eastwood aluminum or Duplicolor aluminum.

Yes. They were not painted from the factory. Finding a good "natural aluminum" satin that matches the case.

Get a small amount of white vinegar and a toothbrush, scrub an area and cover with a paper towel with a piece of Saran wrap and let it set about 15 minutes.
Remove the plastic and paper towel, flush with water.
Mix a bit of baking soda in water, and rub over the area and flush with water.
That should give you a "color" to match.

The case will need to be cleaned to paint the entire thing for the paint to stick properly, but you must not get any water at all into the transmission, water is a killer to an auto tranny.

I would use something like Preps-all degreaser.

I used Eastwood "cast blast" which is a paint that resembles cast aluminum.
