Nice! I just sent an email to Ben today. Have a couple broken springs on my driver seat. Waiting to hear back.

New springs installed. Pretty cool original paperwork on bottom of seat. There was one on drivers base and another on passenger back. Any recommendations whether I should use the original jute which is in great shape or go with new cotton from the Legendary installation kit I have? I plan to go with fresh burlap either way I go and re-do the other factory piece with the wire’s weaved through it.

Whatever you do, paint the springs and frame. The factory didn't, but you can! ;)

One thing I did was add extra side bolster springs to top and bottom. I was careful not to make the springs any higher, just firmer on the sides. The blue tape designates the added springs

Contacted Ben at Classic Seat restorations and order some springs to fix my broken pieces and ordered some extra recommended pieces to replace. can’t wait to get them and fix my driver seat. In the mean time, he helped me out with some questions I had about my rear seats. Couldn’t quite get the foam and vinyl covers installed correctly. I managed to get my rear seats completed today with his help.

Well, finally got around to redoing my driver seat. I replaced the "C" and "D" springs on the bottom seat and the "D" springs with new ones from Ben (See pic a few back that shows the springs that normally break).

Cleaned up and put on a coat of Silver CAD from Eastwood (what was left over in the box) and proceeded to redo the seat. Not bad for the first time, and this is no joke. I've wasted so many hog rings in the process. Think I have about 20 hours in just this seat between tear down, clean up, watching videos and put back together.

Here are some pics of the progress. Nothing bolted to it, just reupholstered. Looks good without the headrest. :) Still have the passenger seat to tear down.

Looks great. I Finished mine over the weekend too. My hands are really sore today.

Looks great! Yeah definitely takes a toll on the hands. I like the cotton you used. Where did you find that? The cotton batting I got came with the install kit from Legendary when I got the vinyl covers. The fibers were fluffy and hard to contain. Made it tough to wrap around. Plus it was very dirty, guess not refined cotton. Had a bunch of debris in it. Had to watch out for splinters lol :)

Hi, I used the OEM cotton. It was in really nice shape so I only needed to replace the burlap that was shredded a little. A Tip I got from the seat guy is that he uses jute on his seats rather than the legendary cotton.

Yes, the seat guy did mention that to me, but I opted to use what I already had. If I would have seen the Legendary cotton prior to that, I would have got some of the Jute from him...Live and learn. Hope the dirty cotton doesn't come back to bite me later. However, what's tastier to a mouse, Jute or the dirty cotton...LOL

Based on all the videos I’ve watched. This is legendary’s go to for all their seats so I’m sure it will be fine. Rear seat backs only use cotton from factory too. I have a few bags of their cotton if anyone needs some. :)

Looks like Ben at Classic Seat restorations has retired, as of March 2024.

Anyone found another source for individual springs?
