Easy to shrink using Windows from pics saved on your PC:

Get on the pic, then right click "Edit". Left click on "stretch/skew". Change the 100% in both vertical and horizontal to whatever size you want (experiment until you get it)...then save that in place of the full one.

Pics from my digital work for full screen at 40% but I usually use 30%.

Ditto. I think the ones I've shown were 35%.

I meant the file size too big. I took most of them on 5megapixels and the important pics, I took those on 10megapixels. I may have to print on and scan it lol.

I have been saving everything on photobucket and then just paste the file name into the thread.

Size doesn't matter that way (...so to speak...).

Maybe one of those magazines would pay for the unearthing in exchange for exclusive rights to the story? I see Steven King all over this!

Ok, finally got the pics up. Had to use photobucket. Anyways, the first pic is of the entrance of the woods and you can barely see the drivers side of the camaro in the very back.

As I walk another 100 or 150 feet, I can see a car body sitting on its side and another car below it (havent dug it up yet because it is completely burried).

I say WOW thats a whole car!!! I look it over and realize its an SS camaro. I go and get my dad and say "Hey those cars you remembered......well, theyre actually down there. Dad had told me stories about them because he used to work there back in the 70s. Here he is looking the car over.

It was getting late, so I went home to my wife and he went home to my mom. In about an hour, I get a call and he says, lets go out and grab a bite to eat. He then explained that we have a lot to talk about. My wife and I leave and meet them in town and sit down to eat a late supper. While we are waiting on our food, we devise a plan to pull that car out. The next day after work, me and a few other employees that said they would work late, started clearing out around the car.

We finally got it to where I could walk around the car and actually tell what it was. Its very rough, but there is certainly enough there to build a really x22d80 car :Brow:

Now for the funny part. Here is what we had to do to get this stupid thing out. Check this out. It took two trucks, the kabota, and the wrecker to get it out.

Talk about work, it took 3 power saws, 6 new chains, 3 shovels, and a whole lot of work. Check out this entrance we made into the woods! Its pretty deep but now the other cars are going to be a lot easier to get too as well.

I hope you guys enjoyed it. Ill keep you posted on the next dig which will probably occur next week sometime. Let me know what you think. By the way, I think I found the transmission to the Camaro. Its a muncie and was sticking up out of the ground next to the car. The rest of the drivetrain is supposed to be down there somewhere. This whole thing is strange to me. Why pull good parts off the car then bury them with the car???? Weird.

That is really neat. I helped a friend dig up numerous very old cars in Western Kentucky and Tennessee in the 60's, mostly Model T's. We came across a bunch of cars in a hollow near Benton, Ky. and one was a neat looking 46-48 Ford sedan.

Since that's bootlegging country, we decided to find out who owned them and get the OK to go down there and see what's what. For $10, he said we could have anything off any one of the cars. That old Ford was a whiskey runner with an early Olds OHV in it (49-53 vintage). We pulled the engine right there and took all the adaptors, motor mounts, flywheel and clutch, etc. for my 41 Ford convertible.

His Dad had a drive in theater and we started parking these old hulks in the field behind it. You can't believe the cars that literally came out of the woods down there once the word was out. Many were drivable or ran.

Drive-in and museum is still there (Calvert Drive-in, Hwy 95, Calvert City, Ky.), and some of the cars, most are gone now. Still open on the summers.

John Brown On permanant vacation !!

It looks like it came with disk brakes and a big block 4-speed crossmember too. Are there any titles for any of this stuff?? :Brow:

That's what I was thinking. I was expecting a barely recognizable silhouette, but that thing might even be worth restoring. At least there's a pretty good market for replacement parts available, unlike a lot of cars out there.

Ha ha believe it or not, Ive already sent off for a title. I should have the clear MS title in a couple of days! In MS, you can get a title for anything before 1975 as long as it was never titled in MS.

We knew it was a big block because of the X22, but the 4 speed was a suprise.

I know its in terrible shape and the right side is almost completly gone, but in all reality, it is restorable. One side of the floors are good, the 4 speed tunnel is good, the fire wall is good, both the cowl tag and VIN are completely readible, and the frame could be used! I just hope to find the rest of the cars and parts! Ive found three transmissions so far and a ton of hub caps as well.
