What a week. If I never have to get into a car/truck again I would be happy. NOT !!!

So, Bill failed to mention my grand daughter graduated from College with a Double Major getting her Bachelor's degree in 3 1/2 years. BTW...she graduated "Summa cum Laude" Top of the class. ppat

Pat says Thanks Frank! She's pretty proud of her grandaughter...

So even after our death defying Texas trip, we looked two more 65 Chevelles today. The one above in black primer was a bit more of on the way to being a race car. New trunk pan inside the car, but no glass and a hack job for the roll cage mount. Glass fenders and hood and absolutely no creature comfort devices>>> PS , PB, Heater delete etc etc. Told the guy I had one more to look at and left him with a 2800 offer to mull over. he was good with that but I need something more substantial to work with.

The guy also had a 1969 AMX w/ go pack 390/4 speed which was outa my range! ws

On to #2 today which was really roached out with a 327 with head bolts all removed and a sagineski 4 speed, with no shifter but a GIANT sawzalled hole for it. More trial and error I guess. Dash bezel had no gages and no seats. Just another bondo bucket... Im really beginning to think this is dorf country LOL...:eek: ws

It's one of the biggest reasons I stayed away from Chevelles and the like. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and there are a ton of incredibly expensive "projects" out there that are usually the result of the owner hitting some sort of impasse or losing interest for whatever reason. And then they have the gall to want money for their f--- ups.
"Easy restoration, just needs floors". "Body work done, - with a trowel". "Needs TLC, the bad engine job I had a buddy do didn't work out too well, needs a new oil pan and a #5". "Have all the parts to complete, - they're just in one of these sheds I think". "Came in here under it's own power, - my driveway is downhill."
Yeah, heard 'em all, seen 'em all.
    Good luck Bill!

I told Bill today on the way home that in my meetings we have a saying..."Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". This is beginning to play out like the movie Groundhog day.
I am burnt beyond recognition with all of this and I LOVE to travel. But I am used to going somewhere and staying for a week or so. At least a weekend.

And to top it all off...next weekend is "wreathes across America". My 2nd husband is buried in a National cemetery in IL. I have never been able to go place the wreath but Bill and I sponsor a dozen or more wreaths each year plus one for my husband. With the weather still being so un-naturally dry I am thinking of going. One day round trip. 280 miles each way plus the ceremony. If I get stuck with snow I will be out of luck. Best I can do is stop at my brother's for the night. After resting this week and watching the weather I will make the call Friday night. I will have to leave at 5 AM to make the 11 AM ceremony. Parking is really bad and it is further then Elgin.
I even (remember insanity) mentioned to Bill that maybe he search in that area for next weekend. He has gone with me before for other services there. I will see if he will post a pic of me at the grave.

Yes, I am as crazy as he is.....ppat

I love when he has projects to keep him happy.

Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elburn, Il. was GIGANTIC, and Im sure by now its tripled. I go for the vets that came home with a dear John letter in his pocket, or mom and dad both kacked while he was gone and he came home to nobody. As sad as it is, Im still happy to help; Unknown but only to God... ws

So Marc, Im drawing a blank and since those POS chevies were soooo widespread, Ive opened my tracking scope to include.... Bonnevilles or GP's Olds 442's and even BIG cars and just about anything GM built with a 4 speed. Maybe I should just be happy that I have Pat, the boat, a decent H-D and the XGS.
(At least it aint Grabber Blue!)

G-O Bill... Didja ever see Stevie Wonders' wife? Neither has he. At least he can weld without a helmet LOL... Its racktime-30 on a Sunday night and both our heads are throbbin'. Gonna tune up, turn on and drop out! See ya'll in a few days! ws
