Tasteful artwork; very period...pretty much sums up the "Malaise Era"; I don't know whether that flag would be considered patriotic or treason.
Dig the sound system and the added gauges in the console...this is a real "Leisure-suit Larry" car.
On the plus side, there's probably enough left to turn it back into something respectable. The biggest reason the owner wants a small fortune for it is because of the 4 speed 396 angle and not because he has a larger fortune invested in paintwork. But it needs just about everything refurbished or replaced, and being that it's a Chevy in all likelihood the motor is completely trashed, and probably not for the first time either.

Unbelievable, the unicorns just keep coming. That's the old "Captain America" Chevelle! That car needs to be restored.

But it's nice to know I'm not alone.
    I'm betting it's a 325hp 396, to have A/C.

Did you notice the homemade rear A/C bracket to clear the M/T valve covers?

I've restored far worse than that. Far worse. It appears that car was originally a Lemans blue/ black vinyl top car. And being what also appears to be a legit SS396 (even if it is only a 325hp), 4 speed, factory a/c car makes it even more appealing to most Chevelle guys. I'd love to have it myself but I just have too much going on in life and there is just no room for it. I do think it would be a beautiful car if it were restored.

Really in N.Y. for exposure, but hometown is just N.E. of Fort Worth. The guy likes to do car shows at his church. I wonder if Capt. America was Pastors Choice?? This show was from 2013.

Honestly? Ive been on the hunt, and just about any 4 speed BBC is worth its weight in gold. Well beyond scrap tonnage. $5,000 would be a smashing success for a buyer these days. And this one has A.C.! At 325 HP or not, its the overall effect. Presentation is everything! Id hafta start with that AC bracket LOL...The Holley carb and air cleaner base is on the front seat.
The VIN shows a 136 body... was that a SS 396 in '69 or should that really be a 138 body bag, er tag?

The "Leisure Suit Larry" moniker just upped the anty! ws

And it does have the rare eleven star flag!

Don't get me wrong guys, I love 69 Chevelle's. By far, my favorite year for a Chevelle. You can see my red 69 SS396 4 speed beside my 71 Stage 1 in my avatar. But it just amazes me what Chevy guys will pay for rusted out cars. The old law of supply & demand. Even though Chevy made 70-80,000 69 SS396's apparently even more people want them today. And I confess, if I could find my old 69, I would try to buy it back!
