The shop that is rebuilding my 400 for me has the engine reassembled now. I was on my way by the shop last night so I thought I'd stop in and see how things are going. The mechanic that has been working on my engine informed me that they made a little modification. They changed the hydraulic lifter and push rods to deliver oil to the rocker assembly. So now the rocker assembly is getting oil from the oil passage through the head and rocker tube and through the push rods.
I don't think this should be an issue and not starve my cam bearings of oil.
Has anyone heard or seen this mod done to a 400???
It's a good idea and be just fine or it's a bad idea.
I'm going to the knowledgeable gear heads for help. What is the consensus on my query.
I wish they would have discussed this with me before going ahead with this change instead of surprising me at the end of the job.
They'd probably be dropping the engine back into the car by now except they discovered the paint they used blistered when it got oil on it. So last night it didn't look very pretty, mostly stripped of paint when I saw it. But back together. I'm jealous seeing all the cars out cruising in the nice weather while I sit and watch them go by.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
    Dave

    So it’s oiling both ways?
Thru the head/rocker shaft AND pushrods?

Finally Have the Buick back. This is a photo at cruise night last night.
I never use to show under the hood much, now with a beautiful cleaned up engine I guess one should do some detailing under the hood.

    Looks good!
How’s your oil pressure at hot idle?

It's about the same as it was before, all heated up idling in park it's about 18 psi.
