    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

It seems to be fairly common to see a Buick with A/C and PS but with manual drum brakes. I own two myself that left the factory configured like that. We added disc brakes to one of those cars since was a daily driver for many years.

I just looked at the '67 Buick production figures and 94.9% of all 4000-series Buicks (Skylark, Sportwagon, & GS400) in '67 had power steering, 55% had power brakes, and 46% had A/C. And for the 3000-series cars (Special, Special Deluxe, GS340) 77.1% had PS, 21.2% had power brakes, and 30.5% had A/C. I was surprised to see that more 3000-series cars were built with A/C than with power brakes.

btw, crank windows are what you will typically see in a '67 GS400. Power windows were installed in 1,013 of the GS400 hardtops which is only 9.5% of them. So power windows are still pretty unusual in the hardtop. They were a little more common in the convertible with 412 built (19.3%) but still not a really high percentage. Power windows are really rare in a GS400 sedan with only 25 built (2.5%).

The radio, like many options, was not indicated on the trim tag. The absence of the R code only means it didn't have the optional rear speaker. Chances are very high that it still had a radio but with only the front speaker. I say this because 92.9% of all '67 A-bodies had one of the extra-cost optional radios installed. I suspect that the reason for putting the rear speaker on the tag was to let Fisher Body know to install the wire under the carpet for the rear speaker. But once again, that's just my guess.

A radio was not standard on any of the '67 A-body Buicks but 92.9% were ordered with one (89.2% with an AM, 3.7% with AM/FM).

Congratulations on the purchase. I really like Blue Mist on a '67. What options does the car have? Pretty good condition?

That's a great car too. It's unusual to see a GS400 convertible with the -4 blue top. Only 95 were built (62 of those were from Flint). Those power windows (X code) are nice with a convertible because you can drop the top and put all the windows down easily. Got to love those Flint trim tags since they provide good information.

Sorry for the confusion. I wasn’t in line for the 4 speed it was for someone else. I’m very excited about this automatic hard top. Yes blue mist with black vinyl top, black bucket seats a/c, p/s, manual brakes (updating to power brakes). Very little rust only repair below front window rest of the car is solid with no rust. This is big, being from Michigan already been through Too many with significant rust repair. I’ve already started disassembly and logging everything. I’ll get the lower window done and clean the trunk then the body off on the rotisserie then the fun really starts.
