    Hey all,
I had a customer come into our store this weekend who has a 1967 Buick GS 400 convertible that he wants to sell. The car has been in Florida its whole life and is in pretty decent shape, I checked it over pretty good. The floors are great with just a couple of rust bubbles, the rockers are great and the body mounts look good too. There are a few rust bubbles on the bottom rear of the drivers door and a few small bubbles on the body behind the door. The paint and the interior are very faded, the interior is complete with the buckets and the center console. The car has 66,xxx miles and looks to be very complete, all the chrome, molding etc. looks to be all there. It has aftermarket wheels on it right now, the car runs and moves but I did not drive it since it has only been driven around the block for MANY years. The car has the proper engine, AC, power brakes and power steering and even that funky air cleaner cover.:) There is a small dent in the rear quarter and the front fender, they both would be easy to fix and they are pretty small. The guy wants to sell but is undecided on the price, it looks like it would be about $6,000.00. I really haven't checked on the prices of unrestored cars like this one but I did have a '66 H/T in highschool so I like the body style. Any input as to if it would be a good buy would be appreciated. All convertible related parts, weatherstripping and interior is no issue for me as I have a warehouse full of parts just waiting for me.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I second that, I just bought a 67 gs vert this past summer needing quarter patches and didn't have the correct engine, hood or grille for 4500. Be forewarned, they do not make any repro body parts for this car. Not a single panel. So if you need anything, it is all thru parts cars. But that is a good price. good luck and see you on the forums.

Sound like a good price to me. I paid $3500 for a 67 GS 4OO conv. that took 2 trailers to bring it home on. The body was almost perfect on it though. But I had to have it when I saw it. Mike

I agree with everyone. 6000 would be a very nice deal. I bought two in the past year. So if I need any help with my convertible top you're the person to ask? :beer

If I had the option of buying it at that price, and the thing didn't have any big issues, I would buy it in a heart beat. Very cool car.

Sounds like a good deal. I was able to get quarter patch panels for my '67 convertible, but a different model. I'm surprised someone does not make them for the GS since it is a more collectible car than my model.

    Hey all,

Well I did end up buying the 1967 GS400 convertible and I got it for $5200.00, every time I talked to him he came down in price. He has had the car stored in his neighbors garage for years and the neighbor is going to sell the house so he had no place to put it. I brought it home and checked out all of the mechanicals and everything looked good, he even bought me a new battery. The car started right up and idled good, I took it for a short ride and everything seems to work good, I even did a short burnout...goes pretty good! I am finishing up some other projects in my shop but when they are done then I will work on the GS, I have already started gathering parts.
BTW, since I have quite a bit of experience (I own a mail order convertible top business) I would be more than happy to answer any convertible related questions.:beers2:

    Thanks!
