Yes, same console was used 65-72. Car is near me, planning on checking it out.... just to look, not to buy.
Yea, that's what we all say. Somehow my current '70 Stage 1 4-sp. found it's way to my house after such a statement.
Looks like it's relisted now with $14K buy it now, after the highest bid last time (aroun $9800) didn't meet the reserve price. In my continuing education in "How to Spot a Bargain," I find this one tempting, worth more than $10K at least. I like that generation's body style better than my 69's but I don't like Nailhead engines as much. If I had $12K in disposable money in the bank, I would be tempted to offer it to the seller and have a nice looking, driver quality, real 4-speed GS with no major issues, ready to go cruising in. How about the rest of you? Would this be a bargain if you could get it for 12 grand?
I love the 66’s, see my signature. I have continuously owned at least one 66 GS since 1975. There are things to like about this car like the 4 speed, consolette, tach. The hood and scoops look ok too! Drawbacks are he does not say it’s the original block, painted over quarter panel extension trim, painted over finish panel rear trim, missing the 8 side moldings and the 2 side pieces that go behind the front bumper, incorrect air cleaner. These things all cost money. Wheel well moldings and factory AM/FM radio would be nice to have. Looks like there are a few pieces in one picture but these are all getting harder fo find in good, presentable condition. Headliner missing, they are cheap but a pain or $$ to install. I agree it would be a very fun car to drive. One expensive question is can you live with the paint flaws mentioned in the ad. If your plan is to just drive the crap out of it as is it might be a deal at $12k. If your desire is to restore/fix up/or correct it then closer to $10k allows more money for parts, etc. In an ideal world it would be nicer driver and priced around $18k, that would be a better deal. IMO.
I was supposed to look at it yesterday. He called me before our meet time and said he is having second thoughts about selling. He’s gonna let me know if changes his mind back. I’ll keep you guys posted.
So the seller reached back out to me last week and I looked at it this AM. I did not make an offer. IMO it is a $10k car max. I know he's had several offers around 10k and has not accepted.

Thanks for the update. I messaged him a few weeks ago but never heard back. Here's one of the eBay pics. I finally figured out why the location looks so familiar, it's at the Tohickon Tavern in Ottsville. Spent quite a few afternoons there after a hard day of trailbuilding at Lake Nockamixon.
You are welcome. And, yes the car is in the Pipersville area. I did confirm that it is a Real GS, and has the numbers matching engine. He didn't know where to look for the numbers and I showed him this morning. He's a nice guy, up front and seems to be honest. In addition he said that he has all of the missing trim, but does not have the clips to install. Like the old saying, a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay, not the asking price.
