Hey everyone! I am looking to purchase a 1966 Buick gs hardtop ASAP. Long story short my brother and I want to purchase a car very similar to what my father bought new back in the day. He has always talked about this car and how he misses it. After a heart attack and covid it is now or never we buy this car for him. Ideally it would be silver with a black vinyl top, but we are open to other colors or an all silver car. I know they are out there! Cash money to the right car and my truck and trailer are ready to go. Please please please if you have any leads or even just know someone with a car like this I would love to hear about it and make an offer!
This one sold last year. Might be worth following up with the new owner to see if they are still planning on completing it. https://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1966-gran-sport-project-car-7-500.333441/page-2
How about silver with no black top? https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/entiat-1966-buick-gransport-400/7354125236.html
Not sure how original this is. The engine certainly is not. But if being 100% original isn't a factor, for something being available, this is probably going to be the only one out there.

And rebuilt TH 400 Automatic transmission, positraction with rear sway bar, original 4180 s AFB carb, new factory dual exhaust, front disc brakes with new master/ booster, soft and hard lines and all new rear components, complete suspension restoration (front/rear), tilt wheel, full Legendary interior, new tires with less than 75 mi. but 10 years old. +++. The Skylark GS was the most expensive performance midsize that GM offered. Not many sold because by the time you could afford a Buick you weren’t thinking so much about performance. While everybody was touting horsepower Buick put their efforts into what the driver really felt… torque! No mention of HP on their air cleaners, just torque specs. The 401 with it’s 445 ft lbs torque was more than the 442, SS Chevelle , and GTO at the time. Another thing unique to the GS that the others didn’t do… they used the fully boxed chassis used only on A body convertibles under their 2dr ht for a more solid handling ride and performance. This car on the freeway is a pleasure to be in, so smooth and straight. I’m selling this car for a good friend that couldn’t be bothered to finish a 14 year restoration and use the dam thing! His wife wanted the garage and off it went to my place to complete the job and get it sold. It’s ready for a new life with only a few minor gremlins to sort to be one hell of a driver for someone. Feel free to give me a call for more information if you’d like. Thank you, Lawrence Asking $24,000. / fair honest offer.
I know he bought the white one before this one came available. He stopped by with it on his way home from MO.
Sorry guys I'm used to getting an email when someone posts with forums, but I've never had any alert that someone posted here. I must have messed that up when I signed up. I did However purchase a White GS a few weeks ago right around when I posted this and thought the seller had backed out. CJP69 I did call on that car since my heart sunk when I saw it and GS66 messaged me on facebook about it. Sadly by that time the car already had a deposit on it from the first guy who came to look at it. It is not a numbers match car, nor is it a factory silver with black top car. It was an all white car at birth. The top was added and it was painted 200 Lexus silver. While Yes a silver car would be awesome to find I also like the fact that the car i bought is a low mileage numbers matching car. Next weekend is the plan to give this car to my father and I can't wait. The anticipation is killing me! Thank you to all who pm'd had either told me of a car or posted your own. I really do appreciate it. I will post a video of us giving the car to my dad if you guys are interested here otherwise it will be on most all the GS facebook pages once it happens!
I actually saw that silver one yesterday. Laundry list of problems: Does not downshift Speedometer does not work Leaks transmission fluid Has a significant misfire. I think it is a burnt valve, one cylinder reads 130 psi, all others 150-165 psi A lot of bondo on the rockers and on the right quarter behind the door. (it has been hit) Tach does not work oil and temp warning lights do not work clock does not work radio does not work Shifter alignment problems: N = reverse, D = neutral, L = Drive Yes they put in a ST 400 but they retained the ST 300 shifter, but that does not excuse the severe misalignment. One has to change the length of the lever on the transmission when going from ST 300 to ST 400 (ask me how I know) Switch pitch does not work core support bracing rods missing Basically this is a car that was restored by an amateur but he did not finish or work out the bugs. The guy who bought it (who offered it to me) only had it for two months and has buyer's remorse. He wanted to get all his money back off me. Sorry, not worth the price. I could excuse all the nuisance items, but not a engine that probably AT LEAST needs a valve job nor a bondo-mobile. The body work is evident when looking from below. Body work should never be evident.
