There's a thread on 65gs.com where Bill put a '65 crossflow saddle into his '64:

The black one is the downflow, the grey primered one is for the crossflow.
Looks like you have the downflow version in your car.
The complete rad support is different for 1966 which is also different than 67.

Thanks for the information, I will post in the parts wanted forum to see if anyone has the support, brackets and top plate. If anyone watching this thread has one or all of the parts please PM.

I can at least take pictures of the shroud and top plate for reference.

I may know someone that has a lower radiator support.

Sounds good, everything helps. I have seen pictures of the support by itself and pictures where it seems like it is welded to the core support. Can you take the support out of the car without removing the entire core support?

There may be a way but the long 2 bolts go through the complete support. It would probably be more of a fight to get the lower support in and weld it v/s taking it out. It's pretty simple to get out. I just sent the guy that had the lower support a message.

Ok so the lower support is welded to the core support, it's all one piece. I was hoping we wouldn't have to remove the entire core support because I believe that would require removing the AC condenser, which is a whole different story haha.

Today we started looking for a core support online and called DVAP but we couldn't find anything. I happened to check my local salvage yard and couldn't believe my eyes. A 65 Skylark 4 door was available and had been in the yard since 4/22. My friend headed over to check it out and it was a V8 300, cross flow. CA car so only surface rust, Harrison 2 row radiator in great shape, top plate great shape and the overall core support is excellent, just needs some cleaning and tack welding the lower radiator support back on. The only things we are missing are one of the lower radiator brackets and the shroud which is cracked pretty bad but I may patch it up if we can't find another. I can't believe we got so lucky, going back tomorrow to get the trans cooling lines and anything else we can use.

Posting some pictures in case someone else come along with any questions. I will also post more when we remove the other core to compare the two.

This is the broken shroud and the bracket that we are missing one of.

I am patching the broken shroud up right now using plastex and it's going well. I ran out and ordered more and will continue when it gets here. If it doesn't work I will be interested in the shroud. We do still need one of the lower mounting, brackets/saddle, not sure of the right name for it. The metal u shaped piece that has the rubber insert to insulate the tanks.

    Thanks
