Well I haven't updated in a while. Was not sure how the community would feel since I elected to swap in a LS and a T56 6 speed. I had really considered building a stroker 300 all out but the cost to do so was crazy expensive for the reliability and HP I wanted. It's been difficult to keep updating two forums. If you interested you can see more here.

Looking forward to your new build. Plenty of LS swaps in the Skylarks. LS1 Tech has plenty of builds for you to read through and get some ideas. Nowadays there are plenty of swap parts available to make it relatively easy.

HI, nice car. I have a 65 special that I bought an L99 for, that's gonna go in soon. Did you use the buick small block frame pads, or buy chevy small block frame pads?

Also, do you have pics after the Detroit speed parts? I was considering the hotchkis 1" drop springs, but would like it a little lower. The tall spindle is supposed to drop the car a little in the front because it acts like a "tall" lower ball joint.

    Hey Joe,
I experimented with several different engine mounts. I tried SBC motor mounts, chevelle stands and adapter plates, also tried 64 and 65 Buick stands. I could not get the engine were I needed to clear headers and tie rods. In a-body swaps the tierod to oil pan clearance is a big issue. I ended up using the BRP mounts.

This will show you the current stance. It's lower now than the previous pictures. This will also explain more about engine mounts.
