I'm in the process of converting my 64 over to manual with a borg warner 4 speed. I'm wondering what I can use from other cars. That is, will 64-65 chevelle parts work (pedals, z bar, linkage, etc)? If not, is there a place for buick parts besides from donor cars (e.g., Poston, TA-performance, etc.)?

Also, has anyone done this to their 64 skylark? I'd like to know about their experience is possible.

    Thanks!

watch Ebay and elsewhere and you'll find the parts for the 300 or 340 in 64 to 67 chassis. Try to stick with Buick or Pontiac pedals. Linkages may be Buick specific. Not sure. Email me at pmg455@msn.com and I will send you some pics of various parts in our 65

Thanks Pat. I called Year one and they said Chevelle would not work and recommended I call Speedway Automotive. I did and SA said they don't have anything but that chevelle stuff might work!

I also found a conversion kit from The Parts Place for Buicks but it is around $300. I'll keep watching for Ebay and I'll send you my email for pics.

There is a yard that has a 65 skylark with the 4 speed set but no column or tranny. I think its $350 for the set up.

Hey Richard,I did this swap in my 65 and I was fortunite to have a 65 4 door with a three on the tree and it made the swap a matter of a one day job.If you can find someone who has a special or skylark with a three on the tree it is the easieast way to go.I paid 400.00 for mine that had all the parts needed and it had a 4 barrel cast iron intake to boot.Goodluck with the swap and if you any questions I can help with just ask.......Bruce.
