1962 Special Ball Joint Question

I was told that upper ball joints should be threaded and lower ball joints should be press in. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Also can a press in ball joint be replaced with a threaded and vice versa? Can anyone recommend a company that makes both?

Only if someone swapped out A arms. They were the same when they were new.

The 61's had the screw in type, 62&63's should have the press in type.

A arms are interchangeable between the years.

No you CANNOT interchange the ball joints.

The screw in type will have a hex top, so you can fit a socket on them.

The press in type are round. It's pretty easy to tell the difference.

Kanter company is probably your best source for new replacements.

N.O.S. U.S.A. made Upper & Lower Ball Joints -- Press Fit and Threaded -- and, YES, they are different and NOT interchangeable, as indicated.... So you do need to know...

For anyone who is going to read this,
I have a block from the phone company to eliminate the telemarketing and robocalls, and dial *82 on every of my outgoings -- because I am Happy to show everyone my phone number.
And, I gave my phone number, which little boy troy had anyway, on all 3 messages, clearly and slowly 3 times on each call.
Since troy had NO Money, NO courtesy, NO respect, and NO sense of responsibility, I guess troy figured it was better to just hide behind the answering machine.

WARNING:. Anyone who would ever want to have any dealings with this individual, BEWARE.... His word is worthless and his purse is worse.....

I gave troy some advice -- such that maybe one day, he will become noble, but NOT presently....
And due to his unscrupulous behavior, lack of manners,
NO courtesy, NO sense of responsibility, and NO respect,
troy has learned that my phenomenal parts, troy is NO
Longer eligible to pursue.....

It is truly a shame that our hobby has been infiltrated
by something like troy.
