I'm in search for a pair of seat tracks for a 1956 Buick Super Convertible. The seats are the 2-way horizontal power. I have the seats, motor and drive actuator just need a couple of tracks that will work in this application. It looks like in 56, the Super 56C, Century 66C, and Roadmaster 73, 76C, 76R all could have come with 2-way power seats. There were other options available to those models as well. If the 2-way tracks aren't available, I may be able to adapt a pair of 56 (possibly 55) manual tracks. Appreciate any help. The attached photo show a portion of the tracks before they were removed from the car. If anyone has any additional photos of a 2-way track or of the manual tracks that would be very helpful. Thank you, Larry
My 54-55 body manual shows only a 4-way adjuster for the 50-70 series which could be adapted to yours if the floor pans are the same and if you get everything associated including the floor attachments. A 56 six-way adjuster will work of course. And if you want to rig it some modern stuff can be adapted.
Appreciate the help. The 2-way power seats were standard equipment on the 1956 56C, 66C, and 73, 76C, 76R models. The 4-way and 6-way were optional upgrades.
The only Master Body and Chassis Parts books that I have or have seen try to cover a range of years from 1930 to 1956 and for the most part provide very little info specific to 1956. Essentially useless. Have found no literature that provide 1956 seat track part numbers.
