1955 Century Gas Tank Issues

Discussion in 'Classic Buicks' started by rick1966lesabre, May 17, 2018.

  1. Hi, I am working on a 1955 Century. The car has been sitting for 25 years or so. The tank was 3/4 full of course. Got it drain and off, however there is sludge is the tank yet. Any ideas of how to clean this tank up?? Thanks

When you and if you do get it clean it will be full of pin holes. There are services that seal and refurbish. I would just get a new tank from tanksinc.com http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm

If there is a new tank available, I would definitely replace it. I agree with the above post.

I always send my tanks out to be cleaned, refurbished and sealed. It is worth every penny.
