looking to put 16"s on my regal, what oem wheels can i put on them that are plentiful and more importantly cheap. im thinking 92-94 camaro wheels but i think those have to much backspacing. id also think s-10 bravada, blazer or so forth.

My brother owns a 1983 Grand Prix, and running any wheels on this car is a nightmare.

after about 3.5" back spacing you start running into issues.

He has 16x8 Irocs on the car right now. (front in the rear and rear in the front).

245/50/16 tires on them. He has to run a 1/2in spacer and long studs for them to have a "safe" clearance.

He also recently got 27x10x15 slicks and had a hell of a time purchasing a wheel to have them work correctly.

Its a tight fit but you can make anything work with the right spacers. You will need spacers for any OE wheel i think.

try turbobuick.com Im sure there are options out there, and they would have some threads about this - I run 17's with a 4" BS on mine with zero problems (aftermarket though). Not sure about the OEM 16's, maybe 2000 camaros/firebirds????

my torq thrusts are 16s. camaro and firebird wheels should be fine as long as there 3rd gen or older.the ones from 93 on have backspacing like a front wheel drive car.

I think the 93-02 F-body cars have something like 6 or 6.5" backspacing. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy too much.

Realistically, you can squeeze a 4.5" BS wheel into the rear wheel well, but if your tire has any bulge whatsoever, it will rub on the inside. The clearance between wheel and frame with 4.5" BS is less than 1/2" (its TIGHT).

If you go with a 82-87 car wheels, they should bolt right on.

If you go for 88-92 car wheels, you should reverse the order. They are labeled FRONT and REAR. ie: rears in front, and FRONTs in rear. The reason is, the factory actually stuck the front wheels out further to clear the tie rod ends. The REARS tuck further in.

You want the opposite on any other car.

    If you go with the

you can always notch the frame if clearance on the inside is an issue. this is not hard to do, there are plenty of threads about it over on turbobuick.com

I believe if you use 4 front rims from GTA firebirds they will fit. They are 16". I was going to do that but couldn't find 4 fronts at the time 4 years ago, and they were expencive. GNX had them!

You can put the "rear"s in the front. No spacers needed.

Its the rear of the vehicle thats the problem. Thats what my bro's GP has.
