Did a rear disc brake conversion and the 15x7, 235/60r15 rims hit the caliper. Have a set of 16x8 Cragar ss was looking for tire size recommendations ?
    Thankyou

No kidding, just put it on to check caliper clearance, does not seem to be a hole lot of room for too big a tire ?
I see that Cragar does not make a 16x8 anymore.

All joking aside 67s don’t have much room for wider wheels and tires.

I also have disc brakes all around and run 17 inch wheels.

U got to be willing to trim the lips.
I run a 10.5 wide wheel on my coupe and it sits very low with all tucked inside fender.
George used to have 295 wide tires on the black widow also.
    It takes careful measuring.

A 235/60R16 is still only 27” tall and should work without any issues. I wouldn’t go any narrower on a 8” wide wheel.

I would consider looking through old tires at the tire shop to test a size. Once you get a tire on a rim you will see if you can do wider or taller.

Thanks Sean my thoughts also, my neighbor has a tire machine, get a couple of sizes and see what works.

Hey Chris how much surgery do you have to do to inner lip ?
    Thanks

Probably removed 75 pct of the width of it. So somewhere from a half into to 3/4 going by memory.
The super desirable wheelhouse trim has to be trimmed also which is a hard decision to make!

Yes I am reluctant to cut the hard to come by wheel opening trim:(
    Thanks for the info.

tire wise you would be much better off going to a 17 over a 16. not many sizes made in 16 but a million made in 17.

I went 18. Had to roll the lips in some though.
