Expert's, All the information I can find states that the proper pinion seal for a passenger car 12 bolt Chevrolet rear end is no longer made and you have to use a truck 12 bolt seal. The problem with the depth of the seal can be overcome with a spacer or by not installing the seal all the way in. Has anyone found a seal that fit's the passenger car 12 bolt properly, without spacers and such? If so, do you have a part number?
    Thanks

You need what we call the blue seal. Ratech # RAT-6109. It doesn’t have as much offset,so it can be seated flush into the housing, but isn’t too deep,so you get a nice contact area with the yoke journal. The orange ones have too much offset and you need to leave them backed-out about 1/8” or so. The first picture of the yoke shows the two different wear marks. The one that is too deep is right on the edge of the journal, and is prone to leaking. The blue one is about 1/4” from the edge.
