“This 6.56-Second Record-Breaking Nissan GT-R Drag Car Makes 100 PSI of Boost

That is a whole lot of pressure.

The Nissan GT-R is a solid sports car, but because its drivetrain is able to withstand massive bumps in power, it makes for a great drag racing machine as well. Modified GT-R drag cars routinely push over 3000 horsepower to the pavement, and this one, built by Extreme Turbo Systems, is no different. It was quick enough to take the quarter-mile world record for GT-Rs earlier in November.

After a handful of runs in the 6.60-range during the Import vs. Domestic World Cup Finals event at Maryland International Raceway, driver Gidi Chamdi was able to lay down a massively quick 6.56-second time at 225 mph, securing his car as the quickest GT-R on earth in the quarter-mile.

The time is just two hundredths of a second quicker than the previous record, set by Alpha Logic this February in Dubai. It's also worth noting that Alpha Logic still has the higher trap speed, at 232 mph.

The 1320video YouTube channel covered the team's entire weekend and put it all together in this video. If you'd rather not sit through the entire film, the record run happens at around the 12:05 mark.”

Wow 100lbs of boost I can't believe that engine doesn't blow apart? I wonder how many passes can they get before going through it?
