I spoke with Monica she she stated that if cancellations are needed then we need to have this done on or before 4:00pm on the 15th. They requested a few days advanced notice, but not the 4th. :beer

Got my room nailed down. I'd have shared yours, Dee, but my college buddy is coming with me, and he SNORES something awful. You may have heard him, he lives in Sanger...

Oh, I just noticed the other day that my rear tires are 7 years old. Good tread, but I'll replace them anyways. So...do I wait until after I roast them on the 18th to replace them, or do I take a couple of hundred miles off the new ones at the Bash? (and how much are drag radials, anyways?...)

    Rules Question

I was just verifying on the temple website about the rules for wearing a helmet. I know it is a good idea to have one, but I have never had one before and don't know where to buy (try-on) a helmet locally. Any ideas?

I don't want any suprises at the track, so here is the question. Is a drag radial considered a slick?

According to the rules, if any car is running slicks or better than 13.99, driver must wear a helmet. I don't think I will hit 13.99, but if everything goes to plan, my car will be posi equiped and running on new BFG drag radials next saturday!!! I am hoping this gets me into the 14's. If drag radials are considered slicks, I will go for an open face helmet, if not, I will put off a helmet until I can afford the one I want (full face).

    Thanks for any info,

Any car running below a 14 needs a helmet for the driver.

NO, a drag radial is NOT considered a slick. Still, a helmet isnt a bad thing. I at one time went to a motorcycle shop to try on helmets, and later ordered a helmet when I knew my size from Summit I think, dont remember. :TU: Might want to check and make sure your pumpkin isnt bigger than Phils. I say this only because my mellon is big, and I cant share helmets with many people.

Thanks Wayne, that info for the drag radials is the exact info I was looking for. Good to know they are not considered slicks.

I will check out a motorcycle shop when I get ready to buy my own, that's a great idea. Both Phil and JR have graciously offered to let me borrow their helmets. Hopefully one will work. And, you are right, I would like to have one even though I don't NEED one per the rules.

    Thanks,
