Team, I have a 67 GS 340 that now has a 70 455 SF code motor with a 2004r Tranny behind it. So life got in the way (two kids through college, that kind of stuff) I'm rusty at best after 20 years garaged/on the shelf and could use some help.
Engine timing is my first challenge, and here is what I remember or can find on the motor 10/1 Comp Ratio, Comp Cam B455 268H-10 (469 lift Int and Exh 268 duration, Headers, edelbrock 750 performer carb and B4B intake, MSD pro billet Dist with blaster coil (No Ign Box) and no vacuum advance.
I currently have the timing set 15deg BTDC (hard to start when hot) tried to set the idle circuit on the carb the best I can do is 17" of vacuum and the needle jumps quite a bit (maybe the cam is a little lumpy)

Any help is appreciated getting this baby back on the road (thanks in advance)

    Welcome

I am doing similar stuff but not over such a long time frame.

Not a tune up guy. Check the engine forum - lots of great info there.

    Start here: https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/power-timing-your-buick-v8.63475/

Before you start the engine - pull all the plugs and squirt some engine fogger or such in each hole (even some regular oil), change the oil and filter, pull the distributor(note location of vacuum advance) and turn the oil pump with a drill for a minute. Do not push down on the oil pump shaft! Replace distributor in same location. Drain (I would simply siphon it out with a hose) and refill the gas tank (5 gals or so).
Crank the engine for 30 seconds or until you see pressure on the gauge or the oil light goes out.
Replace plugs (new ones would be nice).
I would use engine starter fluid and try to start the engine. Issues may come up and solve each as they appear.
