Ya Bruce, I was surprised this one didn't want more timing.. they usually do.

Wish it would have come out at the compression ratio I designed the shortblock for, which was just a touch over 13-1, we limited it so he could safely run 110, and not have to go with C-12... but the head chambers were rather cavernous, so we lost 3/4 of a point, and the 20-25 ft-lbs that would have come with it.. but I was happy with it at that comp ratio.. without a vac pump, and with a TA intake.. about all one could ask for.

What if anything could be done in the future to bump up the numbers? Not looking to make any changes right now but a yr or 2 down the road it might be an option. Thinner head gaskets, different intake?

Any way to increase compression would be the most effective step here.. you have enough headflow and camshaft for 850Hp easily.. maybe even 875.. just not enough squeeze. With a zero deck assembly and steel rods, the minimum piston to head clearance is .035, so you could go with a touch thinner head gasket, but that won't get you much. Cutting the heads is a better alternative, to shrink those chambers up. You will have to cut the intake sides to maintain port/bolt hole alignments. 1 cc is lost for every .004 of head deck cut. Your at 74cc with the chambers now we need to lose 6cc to get you back to the 68 the shortblock was designed for. If you decide to run C-12 in it, then I would go with another full point of compression, to get there you need a 60cc chamber.

Beyond that, the next thing to make the car faster is an intake that will hold onto the power until 7000 rpm. That's the main advantage of the big mopar intake, although I have seen 20HP gains at the peak, between an intake that looks just like yours, and one of my adapted, unported Mopar intakes. Only downside is they are a lot taller than the TA intake, so you can get into some hood clearance issues. On the track, your going to feel the car lay over past 6500 with the TA intake, it's volume is just not enough to feed the 560 cubes at high rpm.

Was thinking about a sheet metal fabricated intake. Local shop has the CNC program to make the runners. They build custom stuff for their 632 and mountain motors pro stock programs.

Richard, I'll be even happier when I finally get it to the track. Running up and down my road and disturbing the neighbors was pretty fun!
