These fools have reached a new low,.....I sent a $475 MO priority mail on the 14th to Washington,...now keep in mind Priority mail used to be no more than 3 days pre covid,..now it's 5 to 7 and cost $3 more at $9.65

So it takes 6days to reach a sorting facility in San Diego,....now it's location and eta is unknown,...and by their own admission "more than likely lost"

So I call ,....while going thru mindless prompt after prompt,..the little automated lady ask me which kind of music I would like to listen too while I wait,...I about threw the (interject the most foul language you can imagine here) phone.! These jerkoffs can have meetings about the how and why of hiring a team of nerds to give an option on wait music but can't do their real job which is move mail,...so I get my agent,..nice enough lady,..no I wasn't mean to her,...but bla bla,...then I'm informed of the following,...there is $14.50 FEE TO FILE A LOST MO CLAIM!!!! THESE DILLHOLES ARE MAKING MONEY OFF LOSING YOUR MAIL,..AND IN MY CASE MY $475 THAT I MAY NEVER SEE AGAIN,.......OH AND GET THIS,..A MO IS $1.65,....BUT TO REISSUE ONE THATS BEEN LOST OR STOLEN IS $15,.......IF ANYMORE HERE OR PLANET EARTH OR BEYOND CAN FIND A SHERD OF LOGIC HERE DO TELL,..... UNBELIEVABLE

This is not the level of frustration or cost you're obviously going to be dragged through before your situation is finally resolved, but it is indicative of how poor the USPS' service has gotten:

My son's school mailed out a packet that needed to be filled out and returned so that he could attend classes next year. It was put in the mail by the school on 2/25. It was post dated that same day and finally arrived at our home on 3/17. The school and our house are just a little over 5 miles apart.

It's USPS...there's a reason they've been in the red for years. I have sent priority mail packages out that were to be delivered in my state of California and they end up in the midwest and come back to California, eventually, if they locate them. If they don't, good luck with that claim. Also had several pieces of mail opened, clearly opened with a knife or letter opener with contents missing. I reported it to the Postal Inspection Service...nothing, never heard back from them. I've seen mailboxes at my friends apartment complex broken into, it was reported, nothing, no inspector coming to look, no investigation. And, they keep raising their rates. Seems like every month. They're a terribly run organization. They have been for decades. Their motto should be "Losing Mail Since 1775."

Maybe the USPS should hire 86,000 more employees?

I dont use usps any more if I need to know its actually going to get there. I've had the best luck with FedEx.

I've hard better luck with usps by not just mailing plate envelopes but put bubble wrap in it so it can't just pass through the machine.

A year or so ago I went through this and after about a month it came back to me....looked like a couple dogs ate it. Was stamped sorry found stuck in sorting machine.

WTF if your machines eat stuff so often you need a rubber stamper to tell us what happened......shouldntnyou fix the machine

With the post office, the shortest distance between destination is best.

  8. Max Damage

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Sometimes the tracking info is stuck or wacky, but the package still shows up.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

Yep tried almost twenty years ago to get a job with them, but in this area, it’s nearly impossible.

A few years ago, I had an issue with a lost USPS money order with a fellow board m,ember. It took several months to get my money back, less the obvious fees and time/trips wasted.

20 years ago I worked at installing fiber
Optics around the country in USPS , I was shocked to see in a place that’s about 20 acres big, there were only 3-4 people working in the HUGE regional sorting centers because they were so automated and piles of Mail were everywhere after it fell off a sorter or conveyor, and nobody cared!!!

I was at tge county tax office last week; they had several people working on car tags, several doing nothing, and one lady doing property taxes. I waited patiently for my turn. She apologized and said she was only one doing property that day. I told her ‘I’m getting used to waiting; it’s the new normal.’

I just waited 1.5 hours yesterday for a rental car at the airport. 50 people in line, 2 counter workers with one of them arguing with a Karen for 35 mins about a reservation.

USPS lost an entire set of 67/68 derby style Buick center caps I sold a few years back. How do you lose a 14x14x14 box? Never seen them and never got a refund on the insurance due the hoops I was being made to jump through. They also said I had to wait like 3 months to see if it gets delivered.

I'm not sure what the government is good at anymore? USPS used to be proud, now I guess they are WOKE. Just pack it in, "its over". I just had to dispute $750 in EZ pass fees because they couldn't read my tag. They had no problem taking a picture of my license plates and mailing me letters... It's time to outsource this. I can order a lama from Amazon and it will be at my house in the morning. I'm sure PayPal, Amazon, heck even TicTok and handle EZPass.

I feel lucky that they only delivered other people's mail to my box. Six pieces to 4 different people at two addresses. Both were close but not my next door neighbors. I put it back in the box, flag up, with a note: Not our Mail. I also had a Priority Mail small flat rate box for a set of mirror gaskets.

That afternoon, more mail is in my box but shoved to the back was the misdelivered mail and my outgoing flat rate box. I repositioned them in the box and the flag was still up.

Next day, no incoming mail and they ignored the raised flag again!

The 3rd day of botched service, I took the misdelivered mail to the post office and dropped off my flat rate box. The lady apologized but didn't say it wouldn't happen again. She also said they didn't have to stop if they didn't have inbound mail. Absolutely, freaking ridiculous!

Having worked for the USPS- I can assure you nobody is making money off of that $14.50- with the possible exception of a CC company. It is/was a very poorly run organization- it is just way to big.

Also having worked there I can say with authority- logic does not exist anywhere in the USPS.

Sounds like Wang-Lung in China is more than happy to use your account for free shipping via UPS. Everytime I see something like this I'm glad I do not have any accounts like this to be used. Thinking about shutting down my Paypal because of this kind of ****.

Ordered a set of 4 new tires a couple years ago. Three showed up together, but the 4th took a ride to the east coast, then the west coast, then down to Florida before it arrived 2 weeks later. It took a while, but I got it. The tracking kept showing it arriving in all sorts of strange places.

One would think this.....but they even have screwed this up. The town i grew up in is shelby ohio is right next mansfield ohio. So b4 when I dropped a bill to get paid in mansfield it used to leave shelby, go to mansfield where they have a sort facility and go out. Now it leaves shelby goes to mansfield, from there it goes to Cleveland.....because they no longer sort there its just a hub for multiple little cities to send to for collection.......then sorted in Cleveland to come back to mansfield to go out. Used to take at most 2 days for my check to get back to my bank account, now its 7-10. Any more i just drive over and pay in person.....at the price of stamps all the bills I can just by the gas and make a loop and know its handled......lord knows if you mail your bill out on the 1st thats due on the 20th it might not make it and even though u mailed the biller will blame you that its your responsibility to make sure it gets there on tine......so you better msil your Aug bill in Jan to make sure

As much as I hate it its why alot of my bills I pay electronically. I have a separate bill account......separate from main account that I put only enough money into to cover my bills then pay them that day. My main account has no electronic accounts linked to it......that way if it gets hacked there isn't really anything in it unless they hit it the day I put funds in. I buffer my PayPal the same way.
