Just one example of why I hate modern cars

Bought a 2016 Encore for the daughter last summer. She calls and says the car is acting funny. I went to see and the engine was missing and the brakes were locked up. Turns out the ebay key fob I bought fell apart. No radio signal to the ECU so the car thought it was being stolen! At least it was an easy fix.

 

The damn brake lamp light keeps coming back on.
Guess I'll have to change the sensor for $100.

Already did that. Didn't work.

 

Take the bulb out. You know if your brakes are working when you push the pedal...

 

I have that 08 Lucerne in the local dealer for the Blend door actuators. Book calls for 7 hours labor and the parts. Im not about to tear into that dashboard.

 

I'm hearing valve train noise in my econobox. ~6.5 years old with 24k miles. I bought the extended warranty, fortunately. I'll drop it off at the dealer tomorrow. If it starts doing stupid things, it'll get punted. I'm already looking for an older vehicle to replace it, as it may take awhile to find what I want at a decent price.

 

I just put a reman engine in my ‘07 Tahoe. Original finally **** the bed (at 285k) due to that fargin’ AFM lifter bullshit. I’d rather rebuild this solid older truck than gamble on a newer, even more complicated one.

When I backed my boat in and pulled it out at the harbor ramp, if the door was open, the (2019 Ram) truck wouldn't budge. Just plain stupid and a royal PITA if you ask me.

 

My '07 will honk obnoxiously if you try and back up with the door open.

 

Ever since that Star Trek fellow ran himself over, Fiat/Chrysler/Stallantis (ask your doctor if it’s right for you) products have done that. Our ‘17 Durango R/T got really upset when I tried that in the driveway-pitched a beepy fit and threw itself into Park.

Replaced the bulb with an OEM bulb last week and brake lamp is still lit up.
That is the only bulb that has been replaced.
All of them are OEM and working.
I have triple checked.
