Sorry I corrected my post I am NOT building a E85 carb I build a" blowthrough carb"
The IAT in the intake is proven to be cut 1/2 compared to temp in the hat. That's also why I added a temp sensor in the intake to monitor this.

Ah okay, I wasn’t sure if you were talking about building a blow through e85 carb or a gas blow through carb. I didn’t realize a blow through gas carb could cut that much heat out of the air. I thought for sure the ethanol would be needed to kill that much heat. Good to know. I’ve also got a spare 850(I think?) Double pumper from my uncle that’s just sitting around. I think I’ll probably convert that one when it’s time, which will hopefully be next year sometime. I’d love to see more people doing this style turbo setup on BBB or SBB. If enough people could do it and have good results with it we might slow the ls/Chevy swapping since part of the big draw there is cheap turbo setups making good power that can live. Having the option/knowledge that a cheap turbo setup could be done with the factory Buick might keep some more Buicks Buick powered, I was originally going to ls swap mine but decided I’d like to stay with a Buick.

I have my 68 twin turbo NO IC with Holley EFI it works great. however the 350 is a bit more forgiving than the 455. But having the BBB on boost ( even when low) will be a handful for a streetcar... Its not so hard to do it, its more about getting out of your comfort zone and try things, that is what im doing here... i think it will work well... will it be a daily as a LS can be , No i dont think so lol but a great weekend warrior :)

PS: setting up the LS for boost is basically exactly the same as what i did with the 455. take it appart new gaskets new rings new lifters pushrods and a Cam, Rockauto made it fairly affordable on the 455 as well. so i dont think there is much give and take LS or BBB SBE reuse for boost.
the timing control will be one thing i have to look at .. on my 350 SBB twin i am using the Holley Hyperspark to control timing which is awesome, but that guy takes max 650HP unless you get the new stealth version and its EFI not Blowthrough so the IATs are not as low as with the Boost carb.
I am trying the blowthrough again probably with a MSD boost retard box so i can at least control some of it :)

Yes the only issue we have found so far boosting the 455 is breaking the stock cast pistons. I think it’s a design weakness with the piston. They are fine NA. The 350 doesn’t seem to have that issue. Years of boost on stock bottom ends without issue.

I did a CSU brand Holley custom carb for my new buick 350. We tested it on a friends LS 5.3 with good heads and it made over 1000 Hp to the tires on E-85 out of the box. They are hard to beat, about $1500 for the carb

yes they are expensive however Kevin the owner gives full dyno support if you book a day and time. I got a full tuning kit and between him and a chassis dyno it’s a home run,

Sorry guys not much more improvement on this
    due to 2 things
    1. i am building a E85 Blow through 4150 /750cfm for it (YES E85 BT) , but the shipping of the Quick fuel e85 metering blocks is in NOVEMBER summit says. so i cancelled it for now and wait.

    2. i have no Project car im putting this in yet so i purposely left the crossover pipe unfinished until i know the car i put it in.

So this project is on PAUSE for now. however the engine is built. the Turbo Fits and i am sure it will be a blast.
For now i have to focus on 2 other projects, one is my wifes 81 Z78 Camaro that has a bit of priority ...

i come back and play with it

If you're still looking for a E85 Blow Thru carb let me know. I have one Kevin built for me and my single turbo Buick 455 a few years ago.
